How about a little something for outleveld effort?

Would it completely break things if ZOS were to give us some XP for Mobs and Quests that we have outleveled? I'm at the point where I skipped Stormhaven in it's entirety and will be going back later to do the quests but if I get NO XP for killing mobs and completing quests it seems like a waste of time. Allowing us to do this would also help with the post 50 XP grind by allowing us to earn SOMETHING for our efforts.

Or am I just not "getting it"?

Your problem is that you skipped a zone entirely. You should never, ever have to do that unless you've spent a large chunk of play time in PVP.

You at least need to go back to Stormhaven to get all the quest skillpoints and all the skyshards.

I have not stepped one foot into Cyrodiil and I've always been a few levels above the creatures in the area.I actually did ALL of Daggerfall... cleared it out 100%. When I went to Stormhaven, I found myself WAY out-leveled for the area. Did the guild quests there then moved on to Rivenspire. Only did the quests in Rivenspire and the Alik'r Desert and Bangkorai. I skipped ALL the dungeons.

I think the problem is I don't fast travel, not with this character. He doesn't trust Wayshrines. Oh, and yes... when the prophet calls me back to the Harborage I take the time to ride back. Hey... it's part of the way I have fun.

I will go back to get the skillponts and skyshards at some point but I'd rather move on to Silver and Gold since those quests offer XP progression and I'm still a subscribed member for a month or so.

It's just a shame that there isn't more incentive to go back to those areas. If ZOS were to allow us to gain XP in those outleveled areas... even just a little... what would it hurt?

I've never been one to watch stats or care about balance or whatever. I'm genuinely curious, would giving us XP for content that is more than 5 levels below us really cause issues? I could maybe understand it prior to level 50 so players don't just end up steamrolling the content, but post level 50, what would it hurt?

Yeah, I hear ya. I've outleveled Deshaan while trying hard NOT to. I'm in Shadowfen now, though that's only because I'm working on the Fighter's Guild questline atm. When I'm done with this I intend to go back to Deshaan to clear it, but I'll be even more overleveled than I am now. I'm not really doing it for the EXP, moreso than I just want to have all the zones 100% cleared, but it wouldn't hurt to add EXP to mobs in places you've outleveled just by spending a whole crapload of time exploring and farming mats (one of the things I enjoy most is harvesting random mats, I can get distracted for a long time doing that, and it usually ends up with me getting a level or close to one).
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

    PC - NA - EP - CP1000+

So you have a problem with getting too much xp and your solution is for ZoS to give you even more xp?

Why aren't you asking for an Xp stop so you can stop gaining xp when close to outleveling, or whatever point you feel you should be at for a zone?

I just leveled a new 1-VR4 char and I did not do the main story line or any guild quests until VR2 and I stayed just right at the level for the zones... and I got VR2 versions of the quest items... I'm going to start a new char get to VR1 and PvP to VR14 and see if I can get a VR14 version of the quest items...

1 - At V14 you will rip through the lower levels so fast that (something like) 4xp per mob kill is worthless. They would have to make it significant XP to make it worthwhile at which point it may become the new grind area for vets which leads to new players not having mobs to kill from vets camping. Not a good idea. If they don't make it significant XP, then why are we devoting development time to something insignificant?

2 - There are already areas to get CPs after V14. If those areas aren't good enough, then you should be asking to have the XP increased in the vet areas where you should be going to get XP

3 - If none of the above makes you rethink your position, and you still want XP added to lower level zones for V14 players, then I simply disagree with your proposal

I think you still get xp for completing quests, just no xp for killing the outleveled mobs.

Hey you're right! I just finished a grayed out quest and received 330XP for it.. none for any of the Mobs I killed while questing. I guess it's better than nothing. Not by much... but better.
