I was shocked to see neither of these with this update, but I do know the ZoS team has other priorities that revolve around the business and the console release. Its unfortunate that we cant be given a game that has a team who isn't distracted by porting a game to Console just to please the accountants, but it is the harsh reality of the game industry. I am 100% certain that if the ZoS team had it's way, they wouldn't be worrying about console, and would be doing everything they can to make ESO better in it's current form.
To hit the numbers you need from a business standpoint, in today's world you have to do either console release or micro-transactions. It is the nature of the beast, imo.
Good lord when this game was going well it was the best PvP in years, I'd have been ecstatic to see either of the things I listed above + this champion patch. F the console peasants and let the damned devs concentrate on those of us who have been here for 2 years
I wish that were true but im not so sure... They had to have spent valuable time thinking they were coming up with a better idea with new game mechanics issued in 1.6.. When they could have spent that time fixing broken stuff. Same thing with the whole champion system. Why did they waste all that time. Everyone was enjoying the game immensely minus the bugs and little things that needed to be fixed just like any other game. When we were here everyday screaming bloody murder about lag. They are over there changing the game around and adding new stuff just to make the game worse then it already was. They should have focused their efforts on fixing lag and balancing out issues, that should have been priority. Now we still have lag, dumb downed game mechanics, bugs, same exploits, and cookie cutter builds... What are they really trying to do? keep it simple people.

I agree that they cater way to much to casuals who are notoriously flaky when it comes to loyalty but what specifically do you see needs to be changed?
Trials were way to easy and ppl completed them right after they were released that was a pretty big issue.
Define casual ?
Not -hardcore I suppose ?
Show me the stats that say ESO fans [probably among the most loyal] are hardcore and not casual.
I get hardcore players want well....hard fulfilling content. No problem. Fair dos.
I relish a challenge....adds to the game intensity
But why target all non-MMO harcore players as casuals and as the problem ?
You seem to think lack of time = lazy and not leeetz enough

To be fair.
1. everyone complained of balance issues - hence 1.6
2. everyone was less than happy with silver and gold as veteran content progressions - hence champion system
These were the biggest complaints at the time. They answered the complaints....and now get a kick in the nuts for their trouble.
Any major updates HAD TO BE DONE before console release that was already way behind schedule.
Now if it was upto me I would have made perfomance and bugs priority number 1.
Console would have been the leats of my worries until the system performace was stable and as high quality as the eye candy
But I am not ZOS with accountants to answer to and employees to pay.
Someone obviously had different priorities

There just aren't that many good trials players left out there, maybe 4 guilds worth for all of NA and there is no supply of new players with interest that content.

It would appear some of the most notorious EP players known for causing lag have been playing on Chillrend instead of Thornblade and lagging it up there, much to my chagrin.
It seems that they want to play with us even though we don't want to be on the same continent as them because of how they exploit lag or break into a keep with the sole purpose of trying to farm players rather than take the keep.
The trick is getting a population to have fun PvP on any campaign without the same 20-25 EP players coming to *** it up for everyone else by intentionally causing lag.
Yeah... Like I said, I have 488 hours on PC but playing it on console it immediately clicked what they were also aiming for. Everything from 5 abilities perfectly mapping to controller etc works. The low key UI is also great. You can go from Skyrim to this without any issue - I literally handled my girlfriend (big Skyrim fan on 360) the controller and she just started questing and stealing (she didn't do the tutorial either). That was the moment of 'Oh, this could be big' for me.

Still scrubs at their own game. Whats the big deal about the UI?..
In general his interviews to me got across that the PvP team is getting no support at all from other departments
oh they are going to make a killing and its disgusting. it looks like skyrim with abilities lol. good news is 3 months after launch when all the console ppl are pissed off they can come yell and scream here where all the PC players quithttp://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/33t176/10_seriously_impressive_features_in_eso_on_console/Yeah... I like how all of the fights they are using light and heavy attacks to look like skyrim, being noobs and not using their abilities once in combat.
What kind of grosses me out is that they are going to make a lot of money from this
Can we expect and fixes or anything now that the game is on three platforms? We didnt get any fixes in the first year with the game only being out on PC. The game is not any better then it was at launch, and in my opinion has gotten a lot worse since 1.6
I think we all want ESO to be more than it is and we recognize that it could have been great if it had the right people working on it. It wasn't and it doesn't. Do you recall from the early days of the game and your dead friends lists and guilds, it has been dying, not growing since launch. To compare, Wow announced the Burning Crusade Expansion 11 months after the release of the game. We get thrown in with the FTP crowd and are made second best to their imminent console launch.
Strategically ZoS is doing the only thing they can do, do what they can to stem the bleeding of players and diversify their revenue. Once an MMO starts dying I can't think of any example where it was turned around. That's just the way things are.
We all want a lot more out of this game than it offers but we're just going to have to accept it for what it is and when we eventually quit for good we'll have a bitter taste in our mouths.
Don't take my post as all negative. This is a great game for a casual player and there is nothing wrong with that. I'm actually enjoying leveling up my first alt and grinding levels and abilities again almost as much as I did the first time. Zos just doesn't have the income and resources available to both grow their existing customer base and continue to create content at a pace that satisfies their existing players. They're choosing the path that keeps them from immediate insolvency and I really can't blame them for that....I don't think any of us should but we don't have to like the reality of the situation.
