Ways to keep us subbing.

So there are lots of posts complaining about the lack of perks to subscribing. A lot of people chatting in game about how pointless it is as there is nothing they want to spend 1500 Cr a month on. So these are just a few ideas that could sweeten the deal.

1. Reintroduce the loyalty program. This is so obvious, I have no idea at all why it was removed, very silly. EQ2 used a similar system, 1, 3 6, 12 and 18 month rewards, plus every year after that. This encourages people to sub to get exclusive rewards. Things that could be included in rewards would be cosmetic and also small ease-of-life items like will be sold on the store.
2. Introduce a token that gains access to a special instance once a month as a subscriber perk. This could be a small delve that had, as a reward a chest/boss with a loot table including a set armor piece/cosmetic item/motif.
3. Stop this nonsense about making DLC 'rented' for subscribers. Make it so that if you subscribe for a continual period of 3 months subsequent to the release of DLC it becomes your's permanently.
4. Another obvious one - for subscribers allow Enlightenment to store for 7 days. Or permanently.
5. Allow subscribers to train their riding skill in blocks of 7 days.
6. Increase bank size by 20 for subscribers.

These are just a few ideas, but I am sure would see the amount of people who come as B2P converting to subscription, which is surely what is desired.

2 or 3 would keep me subbed. I see no reason for me, with a single v14 main who already has his champion point crit bonus, to stay subbed if I don't have to be.

These are all good ideas, and would make subscribing an attractive prospect. Currently I think I'll let my sub expire and just buy DLC as it currently stands.

I completely support this point. It bothers me that I could be a long timer subscriber and not own the DLC.

As for point 1, I would be OK with this as long as it was a new loyalty program, with new rewards, and not a continuation of the old one. I think that anyone who has been subscribed from launch until Tamriel Unlimited (or any time in between that) should enjoy their exclusive rewards.

    2. An interesting idea, would depend on how much dev time it would take as I would prefer to see the new areas (Imperial City, Orsinium, etc) rather than a special delve.

    4. Enlightenment storing longer, this is a hard one for me as it borders on pay to win because the champion point passives get very powerful as you gather more points. You shouldn't be able to be gone for a week and still gain 7 points for that week (enlightened) as if you hadn't been gone.

    5. Disagree. Riding skill is an investment over time and I think it works fine as is. Training it 7 times faster as a subscriber just seems absurd to me.

    6. Bank space increase, this is an interesting idea and one I could get behind, but they have to solve the potential problem with people who stop subscribing but have those extra slots full so that they would not lose their items when their bank shrinks.

As for losing bank slots if unsubbing, they could simply go to mail box a la store sales when leaving guild.

    quarterly loyalty rewards:
    3 month respec token
    6 month XP booster +20%x1
    9 month costume
12 month +10 bank space (permanent)
    15 month respec token
    18 month costume
    21 month XP booster +20%x1
24 month Motif (which can also be bought from store, if have already can be sold for gold)
    27 month Mount
    ....
    etc
Loyalty rewards available after accrued subscription time (total) aren't hard. Costumes (bragging rights on the 48 month snazzy ogre transform anyone?) and XP multipliers (because alts?) or similar are used as filler, whilst stuff that really improves QoL (like bag/bank space) or legendary motifs (Store filler) also provide status symbols. Stuff like XP multipliers obviously get put in the store as well, but mounts and SOME costumes should be Loyalty no matter what, that is how you build prestige.

minor content DLC being rented isnt a biggy as long as it isnt a big investment from the store either (subscribers can always save their crowns after all). Major Content releases such as expansions, well same as any other game you buy them with cash no matter what, but smaller stuff like access to a new weapon type or World Skill Tree should be Crowns/Store.

    my 2c any ways.

2 and 3 are the better ideas I think. 3 in particular is something that gets me, I see now real reason to stay subbed and effectively paying for DLC, without being able to own it. The renting thing is quite annoying.

2 and 3 are fantastic ideas and those two seem to be the one that sticks out the most.

Number 3 is a no brainer. How I think it could possibly work is after Zos rolls out a new DLC, then x amount of months or x amount of DLC content later (as it was stated by OP) the older DLC should become permanent for anyone who has been subscribed for said time. Or if Zos thinks that is a terrible idea, then they should consider letting subscribers pay a discounted price to purchase the DLC permanently from the crown store.

It could also work as a loyalty reward if they should ever decide to bring that back, which they should because it gives people something to look forward to.

I also really like the idea of having tokens to get access to certain areas of the game. Either it be a monthly token to use on something as simple respecing or gaining access to a special dungeon. For a special dungeon or delve it wouldn't necessarily need to be that in-depth, typical delve with maybe two elites and a boss. To keep it interesting we could have it cycle with new bosses that have specific drop tables. I definitely think the main point for something like this would be it's rarity, again I think most people like having something to look forward to, this could have a lot of potential.

And to keep people who aren't subscribed from complaining about this token dungeon feature thing, that will probably never make it into the game, is set it up so that only one party member needs a token to access the said token dungeon. Then to avoid people from grinding these dungeons you could either enable a cap for how many times you enter the dungeon or how many times you can loot the end boss with the unique drop table.

I'd also add that priority customer service for bugs and support requests would be nice.

Since B2P, the customer service has been abysmal. Took days to get back to me with a pre-canned response that didn't help in the slightest.

I get all the crowns I need to buy whatever in the store.

I get access to any new stuff that comes out as a DLC.

I get a little buff for my characters.

It's more than I got before when I was subbed so meh.

I can't imagine anything that would make me consider a sub with ZOS again.

1/ The loyalty program we had wasn't that great, yes it rewarded players who already subbed for long periods but it didn't encourage people who let their subs lapse for a bit to resub because they wouldn't of met the bar anyway for the special rewards.

    2/ Smells like P2W IMO.

3/ I agree, a sub should mean you get the content... not rent it.

4/ You can already store it for 12 days if I recall.

5/ Smells like P2W, especially in PvP.

6/ I have a better idea, they just need to lower the cost for ESO plus members.

I think the TESO TU subscription is only here to let the orginal TESO crowd continue subscribing.
However the game as shifted from subscribe2play to buy2play. I think the number of players subscribing will slowly decline, however the cash shop should make up for that.

I read a lot of people thinking subscribers are some kind of special customers of Zenimax; however subscribing in itself does not garanteer Zenimax makes more money with subscriptions then with non-subscribers using the cash shop.

As the subscription seem to lead (in the mind of some at least) to player seperation, I hope it will be removed over time. However for the short term Zenimax would be foolish to removed it, as the game shop contains no DLC and too little stuff that is consumed and thus bought again and again (such as potions and dyes).

This is going to sound weird but honestly I don't think they want subs. Why do people pay subs to play games?

    1. To get regular bug fixes. ZOS refuses to fix bugs
    2. To get regular content updates. ZOS decided to get rid of content updates for at least half a year
    3. To keep out trolls and griefers as much as possible. ZOS said screw it let them in
    4. To get loyalty items and show their appreciation for the game. ZOS removes the loyalty

I don't know why any company doesn't want guaranteed money but for some reason ZOS just doesn't.
