i remember in skyrim they mentioned that the blade are originally dragon hunter assisting talos.. does that means we get to fight dragon in the 2nd era?

Highly unlikely. At this point in the history of Tamriel, there are very few dragons that are still alive, and fewer that are alive and awake. And most of those need to be alive for later stories in the series.

Possible? Yes. Unlikely, though. We could in theory get a dragon that has escaped from the history books, I guess.

Unless something has changed, ZOS has flat out said no dragons ever in ESO. I don't recall where I read/heard it but it was back around the time of release. I believe it was a video interview. It may have even been a early episode of ESO Live. I honestly don't recall.

Of course things can change but I wouldn't hold my breath as far as dragons go.

Dragons: They exist during the Second Era. Finding a new - yet to be named in the series - dragon in a cave somewhere in the wilderness would not be a lore break.

However, the developers have stated that there will be no dragons in ESO. This could change, seeing as how MMOs are never set in stone, but as of that statement I'd say: there will be no dragons.

The Akaviri Dragonguard came to Tamriel to hunt dragons. When they heard Reman the first speak, they named him dragonborn, claimed he was what they had come to find, and entered his service. They spent the next 200 years hunting dragons almost to extinction. This was long before Talos/Tiber came along.

To quote Maiq "Dragons? Oh, they're everywhere! You must fly very high to see most of them, though. The ones nearer the ground are very hard to see, being invisible."

There are living dragons at this time, because they can be found later in the timeline in various places, so there may also be ones that were not mentioned later because they were killed at this time but as noted above ZOS said no.

Confirming what others have said in this thread, at this point in the timeline dragons have already been hunted to near extinction, but we know that there are still some of them alive, as we know that there were reported dragon sightings (and slayings) at later times in the timeline.

I wouldn't expect there to every be dragons in ESO as regular enemies like you saw them in Skyrim, but because there are still a few of them around, it is possible that one may appear as a boss fight at some point. Based on statements made by ZOS, it's unlikely at best, but it's still possible.

In future DLC I would like to see Titans as the World Bosses. Give me something MASSIVE to fight. They should also include them in the Dolmens. Keep dropping the Generals but have them summon Titans to help. Now that would be fun!

I think the only major dragons still alive atm would be Nahfahlaar aka Naafaaliargus and Parthurnaax and they'd be in seclusion. I could see maybe High Hrothgar being opened in the future and players able to take special max-lvl endgame lessons from the big dude, and maybe you run into Nahfahlaar on the lam and help him out. He has to survive to make it into Tiber Septim's service.

It is actually possible, if ZoS follows their current concept of history cant be perfectly remembered and passed on down the ages (which I agree with) then I would say its likely we will see some 'type' of dragon-ish creature.

It would be easy enough to make a quest in Skyrim involving unearthing a Dragon Mound and getting a Dragon Priest to wake said Dragon.

Edit: I don't remember where the article is but I do seem to remember someone from ZoS stating in an interview Dragons wouldn't be in-game... I hope that I'm misremembering that though.

Dracolich, maybe since there are tons of dead ones, a living dragon however is supposed to be so rare I could only see it working as a trial boss or something.

That's a bummer. As beautiful as this game is, I think a giant monster-ish world raid boss would be cool. I bet they could make a beautiful dragon.

Or a quest to the Soul Cairn, Durnehviir is there and could be fought but not killed as a boss fight, in this era he may not look quite as ragged yet. Maybe you need to recover something in the Boneyard on a quest and have to fight him before returning to Tamriel with your relic or whatever you needed. You could fight a dragon, not have to kill him but rather subdue him since he is technically undead and already immortal as a dragon.

More than 2300 years after the dragon war (3300 if you count the middle dawn), there were still dragon sightings, Casimir the II kept Nahfahlaar as a pet as recently as 200 or so years before this game (Source: Atlas of Dragons). So yeah, it's extremely likely that there are dragons in hiding, but they make themselves so scarce it takes hundreds of years to even find one. So while we won't be riding around on dragon mounts, a quest/raid/dungeon involving a dragon isn't out of the question from a lore perspective.

Don't rule out time-travel portal to an area with a dragon. That wouldn't make Zenimax liars. Maybe future expansion with dragons on Atmora or Akavir, but I kind of doubt those would be in ESO before the game is killed off by TES6.

    You become a Dragonborn in ESO thusly;

When the Moons are full, you go into the deepest reaches of the Al'kir Desert. Once you are there you will find a small altar dedicated to Akatosh.

Once you are at the altar you take off all your clothes and chant:

"I invoke the powers of Akatosh and my rightful place as Dragonborn of Nirn" 8 times. Then Akatosh will come to you and bless you with the powers of the Dragonborn.

Or go and install Skyrim if that fails.

Mirmulnir is active. Specifically in The Reach. Also, it's not like non-dragonborn can actually kill them. You can bring one down, but you can't bake it off and keep it from reviving on its own later.
