Gaining Veteran XP per Alliance

So I've seen many topics about Veteran Levels and the merits (or not) of them, and why they should be removed. And one of the major things is the grind through content, which is very real. But one thing I've also seen is a disparity in how bad that is for people... and I've noticed that it seems to perhaps be related to what content you're going through for Silver/Gold?

So all I want to gather is- current VR, current zone, alliance, approximate VR/zone. I know this is pretty unscientific... but I've begun to wonder if the amount of XP that you get in the VR levels might be bugged or disproportionate depending on what alliance you're going through?

VR11, Bangkorai, AD, 1.3

I doubt that the amount of XP is vastly different from zone to zone of equal level. You might have an extra mission here, or two short mini-missions there, but I am betting that it's not really enough to notice when compared to killing the enemies and completing content as you go through it.

HOWEVER, I am betting that people feel different ways about different zones, and this might lead to the feeling that some zones just aren't as worth it.

For instance, I am not a huge fan of Auridon and Grahtwood. They just aren't fun for me. I think Auridon because I've done it so many times on new characters, and Grahtwood because I don't like the zone/mission layout in it. But I love the rest of the AD zones. So, I might try to race through those first two zones, not completing all content, and then say to myself, "Well how come I am still just halfway through Vet 2 now? When I was going through Glenumbra and Stormhaven, I was able to get most of the way through Vet 3!" But that's not because the content gave me less XP, just that I skipped more of the content.

I wasn't really trying to debate... but instead gather information to hopefully at least take some information to ZOS (if not purely scientific, and more anecdotal). Care to contribute?

the worst part is when you complete all those quests and now you're left with 3-4 ranks to go and nowhere to quest. Your only option then is soul sucking grind. I'd like to see the ZoS employee who thought VR13-14 was a good idea fired.

My main is a tank, grinding is inefficient and slow, and it's hard to find a dungeon group when you're an underleveled tank.

Is anyone ever going to answer the question? There's more than enough threads to discuss it... many of them are on the first page. I just had a simple question...?

I have been through every VR Zone at least twice, maybe not both Gold and Silver instances, but the zones themselves. Some zones you have to be more of a completionist to gain a VR Rank, other zones it seems I can leave some content undone and still gain the levels.

However, if you do enough quests to get the Adventurer Achievement for the zone, you do most or all of the world bosses, the 3 dolmens and the public dungeon (and that is optional really) you will gain at least one VR Rank per zone, if not more.

Also, grinding a Public Dungeon or a Delve, like say looking for a specific dropped item or just farming loot, can easily gain you a veteran rank in just a couple of hours and you don't have to touch other zone content.

This is what I am doing with my current Templar who is going to be VR7 before she finishes Caldwells Silver

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Not true. Rivenspire barely gave me 700k xp. I went into it at VR8, about 50k in after finishing Stormhaven. I got Rivenspire adventurer, did all the dolmens, the public dungeon, the delves, picked every chest I could find, killed all the world bosses, found the mundus stones and the POI's, the crafting stations all the waypoints, you know mapped the whole thing out. 700,000/1,000,000. I found a handfull more quests after rescouring the entire area.. quests that depended upon completing certain other steps first, that gave me about another 50,000 xp.

But I was still short. Al'akir desert got me about halfway through VR9 so that was only about 750k xp as well, and Bangkorai got me about halfway over VR10 (so it was about a full 1mill)
