In theory it should. it says it reduce detection range. Has anyone tested it though? I want to know before I pick it up. Im sick and tired of the massive detection range when trying to steal a few things!

I did notice a difference on my Khajiit. Don't see why it wouldn't do the same for a wood elf.

Never "tested" it though. Just seemed to have an easier time of it after I invested in the skill.

Absolutely. Anything that reduces your detection range makes stealing easier. The Deaths Wind set has a 3 piece bonus that reduces your sneak detection range. And, the Medium Armor passives help too.

My NB wearing 3 pieces of Deaths Wind and the Medium Armor passives can pretty much ignore line of sight and steal with out a care in the world. Right next to the NPC.

And, Invisibility Potions can get you the same thing.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
