Veteran Dungeons and Undaunted Helms drop rate

Since you doubled the rate the shoulders drop, I think you should also double the rate in which Undaunted helms drop.

BUT...

...make it contingent on actually completing the dungeon.

I hate the current dungeon meta where 95% of the population skips bosses and content. I really do. Nevermind that I PvP and could use the soul gems, or the XP contributes to my champion points, or that I don't have much gold and could use the loot, or that I want to test my build - I *enjoy* playing this game and some of the interesting content that I no longer get to do because people now mindlessly and automatically just skip stuff. This has reached such a ridiculous state that groups will actually sprint through the "Guardian" Boss in Crypt of Hearts (the boss before the bedroom).

It is now pointless to ask people to do this stuff as they are already dropping off the cliff in Elden Hallow, sneaking by Mad Mortine in Spindleclutch, or swimming through the lava in City of Ash. I've received enough terse responses of "why" or just "no" to not even bother anymore. I don't understand why it has to be such a chore to convince the group you are in to actually play the game - it's not like killing these bosses is going out of the way, it's not like we don't get rewarded for it, it's not like these fights take more than 45 seconds, it's not like we don;t enjoy playing the game. But if that is their preferred way, I don't think it should be punished so keep the drops the same for completing the quest.

The change should come in granting a bonus to the drop rate for killing all the bosses (75% increase) and completing all content (25% increase for eliminating all mobs, optional stuff like rescuing the Undaunted members in City of Ash, etc). This I believe is a fair solution that satisfies all parties as it in no way "nerfs' or punishes those players who prefer a minimalist approach and make it easier for us completionists to actually do the interesting content in these dungeons that ZoS has devoted considerable resources in trying to give us fun encounters to play.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I agree on the last part about increasing the drop rate for mob and mini boss completion.
However with the current drop rate, if you're farming COA or any undaunted helm skipping is the best way to do it because the end goal is the helmet and the more times you can run it the greater chance you have of getting it

I like the idea a lot.

While I dont mind clearing a full dungeon, or skipping parts if people want to rush, I cant stand the drama and bickering that comes with it. I just want everyone to get along and have the same goal really.

It's like this every single time a group has pug elements. There's the guys that done it 500 times no luck, bored to death, just want to rush to the last boss for a shot at the helm or gold key. They assume everyone knows where to skip and rage miles, when someone doesn't get it. Than there's the people that want to kill everything, loot every chest, read books and so on, their idea of "playing as intended". They rage equally when people skip and start cursing, even leaving the group.

I hate it. All the conflicts. But if you had to complete all bosses for a greater chance of a helm, preferably also with greater exp than today, everyone would have the same goals and way less outbursts, "WTF dude" and stupid wipes due to lack of communication.

I will skip any boss or trash that I can, except if anyone needs them or just wants to do them for whatever reason. I don't remember ever being in a group where anyone asked to do the skippable content and was denied. I prefer it as it is, as it makes for faster farming - and it IS farming, by design, since whether you get a helm and what type/trait are up to the RNG gods.

By the way, 1 or 2 more bosses in a vet dungeon aren't going to give you much loot or experience.

Perhaps an amendment to the OP's recommendation: You have to have cleared the dungeon entirely once on that character (at a given level or higher).

If you've gotten the achievement, you've shown you can do it. Proving you can clear what amounts to unnecessary trash a second or 200th time is not necessary (should be up to the group.)

Likewise, a helm without shoulders is just a hat, so you ultimately have to be able to get Gold to complete the set.

If you can complete the set by getting Gold, again, clearing the trash ceases to become a necessity.

It's like proving something to the V3 skeevers or mudcrabs that nip at your feet...

If your group wants to clear it all, clear it all. For the rest, it should be optional - it's a boss helm, right?

(In your original suggestion - consider what happens when some hidden/non-spawning archer or spider does not get cleared. What was a thorough helm run is not just a plain run, and you may not even know why.)

EDIT: I do like the idea of increases the drop chance rate if you clear it all, though...

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

    1. Yesterday I ran Elden Hollow twice. Neither time I got to complete the whole dungeon. One time I asked and was told "Why bother, we don't need it" and the tank proceeded to jump down from the ledge. Second time the healer drop off the ledge immediately after killing the dremora so the question wasn't even asked. So just because in your groups you can't remember people's requests being denied, they are groups where there are being denied or just ignored every day.

    2. Tell me how you are disadvantaged or inconvenienced by my proposal. Nothing will change at all if you continue doing dungeons your preferred way. You can skip to your hearts content and have the exact same chance at the exact same speed of getting a helm under my proposal as it is currently. Nothing will change at all for you.

I run these dungeons a lot with a friend that is hoping for certain ebon pieces to drop, so we kill everything.
Even then it took him 168 dungeons between the chest and the feet to drop....such dedication

Since we found out that the neck of adroitness can drop in CoH, i have seen it drop from the guardian skeleton, we make sure everything dies in there haha

But we always discuss it before we run into the first mobs, to avoid confusion in our group
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.
