Patching at 1%?
Hey all, so my friend went out and bought me the 4-disk package for ESO as a late birthday present, and I have installed the game without any problems. I realize I have to patch it, but just how big is the patch? After around 4GB out of 20GB it isn't even past 1%! Is this not supposed to be there or is there seriously another 20GB patch waiting beyond the first? x.x
My internet download speed sorta sucks here so.. This could take weeks if there's another patch waiting for me.. If there is, is there a way I can play WHILE it's patching? I really want to start playing! Thanks for your answers!

Vexian✭✭The % can be very misleading. I don't know if this was mentioned ready but the way the installer does its updates is it downloads a patch then applies it. Downloads the next then applies that one. The % is based off total work complete including the applying. So just because you have downloaded for example 10 gigs out of 20 doesn't mean that the launcher should be at 50% done.
But if you do have a slow connection my suggestion is keep your computer on over night and let it do its thing while you sleep.5

I am installing the game as we speak, after 4 discs it started patching. I downloaded around 5 gigs so far and it is on 54% but as far as i saw this patcher download then install and then it shows your how much % is finished, because i saw that it downloaded few 100 mbs patches before big one and it installed it.0 -

Good to see someone is in sort of the same boat as me. Of course, we may have bought different versions of the game and mine is further back on the patching.. As I said, only at 1% and got around 4GB downloaded. The percentage never went up at all, and since my download speed sucks I only get around 125KBS for my downloads. Planning to spend an hour or 2 at a spot with better internet later tonight. Hopefully this 1% is just a mess up with my launcher.

Launch day as in official launch in 2014, not the Tamriel Unlimited re-release? Because that is the one I have, I believe (the official 2014 launch?). Did it come with a map of Cyrodiil?0 -

Ok after around 6 gb downloaded and installed it has gone from 54% to 84% and now it is downloading 350 mg patch.0

Oook now i need to download 20gb patch.....i will leave that for overnight downloading.....ah well i guess i will have to wait for tomorrow to play then.0

You might be the as me then man.. I'll bet my 4 disks put me a few patches ahead of you or something since mine doesn't seem to be a Day One pack now that I look at it. Still, long way to go..1

Thanks for the info, which was NOT already mentioned! So I may have some small patches coming my way, or even big ones, but at least I don't have 200GB more to patch.
If things go well I could be playing tonight or tomorrow. Also, I did leave my laptop on overnight and it got 4GB done while I slept. So at worst it will take 4 more days to patch, but I think ESO will be worth it0 -

Slow yeah some but not this slow! I download from Steam much faster.
