Guild Faction Neutrality Treaties - Cross Faction PvE

I propose the idea for allowing idea: Guild Faction Neutrality Treaties. I propose that player guilds should be allowed to have Faction Neutrality Treaties. Doing so would allow those guild's members the ability to do Cross Faction PvE with other members of the same guild. However, at a price. Guilds that sign Faction Neutrality Treaties would do so at the cost not being able to set a home campaign in Cyrodil, and would be unable to attack players in Cyrodil (though they would be able to observe the fighting around them)

I think this could pose very interesting guild and community dynamics. It would further allow ESO players to engage in the PvE content of the game playing the race/faction they prefer, but not limiting themselves to 1/3 of the player base in which to quest/dungeon crawl with.

Respectfully,

I like this, except for 'unable to attack players in Cyrodil'. Make them able to attack and be attacked by everyone instead in my opinion.

    Cross-faction, YES, gulid-based, NO.

I always felt that Cold Harbour should have been faction neutral, after all, each one of the factions agreed that the Mage and Fighters guild should lead the operations there and that they would all send support to aid them.

Not sure about Craglorn though, it is the main route for DC to get to Cyrodil, and I'll be pretty sure they'd be more then upset if AD and EP were openly operating in that area.

    Someone mention cross-faction?

    Coldharbour: Agreed.
Craglorn: DC have no control over the region, so cannot put restrictions on who is there or not. See also below.

Here's my standard list of everything I think should be cross-faction, and the lore reasons why it would be appropriate:
    • Coldharbour:All three alliance leaders have sanctioned the Guild invasion, so it would make sense for members of all alliances to be there.
    • Craglorn: Politically neutral with no fealty to any alliance. Also the Star-Gazers are searching for help against the Celestials in each Alliance Capital, so it would make sense for members of all alliances to respond.
    • Group Dungeons and Trials: All of these are organised by the Undaunted, who take members from all factions, so any Undaunted should be able to group with any other Undaunted to tackle it.
    • Eyevea and the Earth Forge:Members of the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild come from all alliances, and these are their safe zones, so people from all alliances will be there.

On the line of Cyrodiil neutrality: would be good, but does being unable to attack players also mean being unable to be attacked? In which case, you remove all the difficulty from the zone. I had an alternative suggestion for Cyrodiil neutrality -> Alliance War Citizen. In a nutshell, you are flagged as neutral, but can still be killed by other players. They get no AP or XP for killing you, which I thought may be deterrent enough to not bother, but it was pointed out that enemy players may just grief you if they saw you were neutral.

I understand the points the rest of you bring up, however, I still prefer my idea. It allows those, and guilds of those who only want to PvE and not PvP in any way do so. I don't agree with being able to be attacked and attack players of all 3 factions if you go to Cyrodill as a member of a Faction Neutral Treaty guild. Perhaps, players of all the factions who aren't in your guild would be yellow aura to you, thus you could attack them, but doing so would terminate your status as being protected by your guild's treaty. You, individually, are now fare game to all!

I for one would like to see coldharbour and craglorn to become cross-fraction cooperative pvE zones. The lore kinda supports that after all...

And maybe some "free for all" mixed cooperative/competetive PvE/PvP zone, where everyone from the other alliances is flagged neutral-but-attackable (yellow), and those you are grouped with become "allies". Maybe some pirate island setting? A town where the city guard enforces a shaky peace, and a "anything goes" zone beyond its walls... where you can do whatever. Go out hunting other players? Group with some nominal enemies and do PvE quests? Drop the lone AD player from the group just after defeating the dwelve boss and gank him? ...that sort of thing...

Cyrodil on the other hand should stay locked in its three-side struggle. Allowing any guild to make their own personal alliance with the enemy? Without asking their fraction leader, be it Emric, Jorun or Ayrenn? There's a name for doing that sort of thing... "High Treason" ring any bells? ;)

What I -would- like for cyrodil was a special "truce envoy" disguise. One that dissapears the moment you attack anyone or remove it, and is unique so you can have only one, but as long as its worn, it will flag you as "noncombatant" to any alliances, for people who want to go into enemy territory for RP reasons, or just to taunt the people their side has just routed... (note that the wildlife and other assorted NPCs wouldn't give a darn, and if they tear your shiny envoy tabard, it won't be recognizable by the enemy soldiers anymore, so... use with caution and forethought)
Probably something too specific to be worth the effort to code I guess... likely not something many people would use I suppose...
