Totally impossible for returning player

Hello, im returning player from the days of release.

No matter what i do with my VR8 templar, every mob hits me for 4k damage, killing me in 4 hits while my strikes do 600-800dmg to them.
All guides says i need to use medium armor, dual wield and bow, but i have all those skills at rank 0-5 as they were useless back when the game was released.

In other words, i cannot kill even a trash zombie that is 3 levels lower then me. The trash zombie kills me. Either the game is way too hard now or im doing something horribly wrong, but regardless of how bad player you are, never ever 3 levels lower trash mob should not be able to 4 shot you.

Only options i can think of is either reroll or uninstall, and tbh the latter option is winning. I really wanted to give this game another shot, but guess the game doesn't want it.

Did you redo your attribute and skill points? Did you distribute your champion skill points?

I did place all attribute points into health. With that i got from 3 shotted into 4 shotted and live 2sec longer versus the trash mob. I did also place around 130 skillpoints into some class abilities, heavy armor etc, but it didnt have any effect on incoming or outgoing damage.

Champion points.... dont know what those are so probably didnt place them.

I'm really not sure how this is happening to you. My VR4 Templar with almost half of his attribute points in magicka, and the rest in health has no problem going up against groups of as many as 5 or 6 mobs.

Are you blocking heavy attacks, dodge-rolling to get away from AOEs, and interrupting abilities?

What type of armour are you wearing, and is it fully repaired? Do you have enchants on it?

What skills are you using, and what passives have you got?

Serious question - are you blocking?

I cant block, my all 11k stamina goes to biting jabs that i can use 3 times until my stami is out(jabs has almost 4k stamina cost). With those 3 jabs i can make around 6-7k damage total, but i always die before i can melee attack rest of the 7k HP away from the mob.

I got heavy armor in use and i did place full points into all those passives.

Enchants? only whatever there is randomly on the gear, it didnt use to have much effect and enchanting was one from impossible when game was released.

OK, so it sounds like the problem is that you're doing a stamina build, but you don't have enough stamina to properly do a stamina build. At VR levels if you're not blocking, interrupting, and dodge-rolling to avoid the things that do the most damage (light attacks shouldn't be a concern - it's everything else that you need to avoid), then you're going to die.

The 2 best options would probably be to respec so that you take the magicka morph (puncturing sweep) instead of the stamina morph (biting jabs) in order to avoid using up your stamina on your main attack (this will also continuously heal you as you use it), or to get your stamina high enough that you can continue to use biting jabs, while still having enough stamina to block etc.

If you're going to go with a stamina build, you should go medium armour for the passives that reduce the stamina cost of abilities, increase stamina recovery, and increase weapon damage.

You should definitely have enchants on all of your gear. If you haven't leveled your enchanting skill, you can just buy glyphs (from vendors for white quality ones, or from guild stores if you want higher quality), or use ones that drop from mobs. If you don't want to respec your abilities, you can use glyphs to increase whatever ability is lacking (stamina if you're going for a stamina build).

Also, if you're having these sorts of issues with your resources, you should always make sure that you're eating food to boost your stats. If you're going with a stamina build, try to use the highest level blue food that boosts health and stamina that you can find. If you're going hybrid, try to use the highest level purple food that boosts all 3 stats that you can find.

Oh, and hit = in-game to see your champion points and spend them on passives. There are too many options for me to really go into what to spend them on, but try to pick 1 constellation from each of the 3 groups to focus on.
