I need to say this, because every single post in GD is a circle-jerk of old subscribers demanding the game be as they want. Prepare yourselves. This gonna be ugly.

All of these elitist "I've been a subscriber the whole time" players need to realize that now that the game is B2P, they are the 1%. Maybe not literally (although maybe...), but they are the significant minority. Zenimax does not, nor should they, care about you now. Zenimax is first and foremost a business. You made them no money. That's all there is to it. You're not entitled to anything more than the mount you received. The game went B2P as a result of there being so few of you. In order for the company to sustain itself in the long term, this had to be done. They are adhering to this new crowd now.

Why are they doing this? Why did they screw over subscribers only to focus on Tamriel Unlimited and the new console release? They promised us new content months ago! Because that's their business model now. Played for a whole year? Finished all of the game's current content months ago? Great. There's tens of thousands of new players with plenty of content ready to be explored, and soon to be a lot more with the console release. Not only does that make money, it helps Zenimax synergize all new releases and content with this audience in mind. This allows them to release more content further on down the road, and for that content to have a quality revolving around what their new community wants, not the old, broken one.

Why should Zenimax cater to subscribers when they are the past? It seems most of us who tried out the game at launch, left due to disappointment with the bugs and have now come back are astounded at the changes we see. We see countless bugs that have been fixed, quests that are streamlined, numerous balance fixes (I'M FINALLY RELEVANT AS A STAM NB!), and a promising future ahead. We're not crying for money sinks like player housing, barbershops, and first person horse riding like the subscribers. We readily see that there are more important matters to attend to, like the massive console release. I'll gladly wait 5-6 months for new content if it means the release goes smoothly enough to strengthen the game's player base significantly.

I keep hearing about latency issues. I had endless network and visual bugs at launch, but I've not seen any since I've returned, personally. But if we're following Zenimax's track record, we can expect these issues to be fixed soon.

I realize the forums are not the mind of the community. Those who are content with the game rarely post on the forums and those who are outraged have the loudest voices. I may be a nobody simply expressing my opinion, but someone needs to represent the new community here.

TL;DR: If you're a subscriber, calm down. You've been bought out. Your opinion is of little importance in this new business model.
