Continuous Attack buff goes away on death?

Ever since this latest patch I've noticed that the continuous attack buff seems to disappear if I die. It no longer applies for the full duration. If I am not mistaken prior to this patch the buff would last through death.
Is this working normally or am I just crazy?

Complete stealth nerf to that passive.
Don't even tell me that this is how it was supposed to work. Its always lasted the full duration, if that was not intended then why are they just getting around to changing it now?0
