Crafting research and server down-time?

Just out of curiosity does server down-time affect how long crafting research takes?

Is it based entirely on time elapsed, so when the server comes back online it will "know" that an extra 3 hours (or whatever) have passed and jump everything ahead by 3 hours, or is it based on time the server is running and picks up exactly where it left off?

    It's based off real time so server Dow time won't have any effect

    Yep, basically the timer starts when you start the research. Servers being up or down have no effect on that.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
