ELEMENTAL EXPERT and THAUMATURGE NOT WORKING (Edit: Not displaying.)

Elemental Expert and Thaumaturge from the Mage constellation are not working properly. I tested this both before and after today's patch.

Crushing Shock damage before any points applied to Elemental Expert - 1330 fire / 1330 frost / 1330 shock
Crushing Shock damage after 33 points (11.3%) applied to Elemental Expert - 1376 fire / 1376 frost / 1376 shock

The amount Crushing Shock should be doing with 33 points (11.3%) in Elemental Expert is 1480 fire / 1480 frost / 1480 shock.

So basically, you are only getting value out of 31% of the points you spend into this passive.

I have tested Thaumaturge and the same thing is happening...only getting 31% of the increase that you should be getting.

Also, it's worth pointing out that spell erosion is still broken even after the "fix" in today's patch. Click on the link below for details.

Edit: Apparently the damage is increasing it just isn't displaying in the tooltip for some reason.

The amount shown in the tooltip isn't reflected by the CPs invested in Elemental Expert or Thaumaturge. But investing CPs in the Mage constellation will increase your magicka which in return increases the base amount of damage done in your tooltip.

Otherwise those talents are working fine, my FTC shows me increased values when fighting ennemies with low spellresist.

    Like I told you previously...

The change reflected in the tooltip comes from the increase of magicka from investing CPs in the Mage constellation and not the Elemental Expert talent, because destruction staff abilities scale with Magicka (more magicka = more dmg). You can easely try this out by creating a new character and see what happens when you invest points in Thaumaturge. See the results if poison arrow gets a damage increase in its tooltip or not. Since bow scales with Stamina instead, the damage reflected in the tooltip is the same even after investing more than 30 points.

    Which proves my point above.

Yes, I have noticed the tooltips do not change when I put points into elemental expert. @Brasseurfb16_ESO you have tested this on a mob and notice the damage does increase though? Either way, the system should be updated to reflect the change in champion points into the skill tooltip.

Max stats are not the only way to effect your tooltips. this is painfully incorrect. If you put CP into something that increases Spell pen, spell crit, etc it does indeed appear in the tooltip. When I put the point into the Spell Crit passive, it reflects in my character sheet. Same with points into magicka cost reduction and magicka regen. I immediately see the effects in my tooltips as well as my character stats..

Please do not try to correct a posting that is already correct with mis information. Max Magicka, Health, Stam ARE NOT the only way to increase tooltip damage. If you increase a stat that governs that ability (lets say fire dmg) you will indeed see a change in the tooltip of a fire spell.

ZOS is NOTORIUS for these mythical invisible stats that we have that for some strange reason are left off of our character sheet. Spell penetration has been broken for ages. First there was too much now theres nearly 0. Yet no matter how much spell resist we have, magicka based enemies in Vet DSA for instance nearly 1 shot you unless youre in 7 heavy armor lol.

every point put in any star of the mage constellation increases your max magicka.

So am I missing a star in the mage constellation that increases max magicka? You wrote...."The change reflected in the tooltip comes from the increase of magicka from investing CPs in the Mage constellation"...... investing CP into the mage does not increase your max magicka. You've mentioned this twice and it makes no sense.

Actually, it does increase your max magicka for spending Mage points anywhere in the champion system, just as the Thief ones boost your stamina and the Warrior ones boost your health. Of course, if ZOS were to work on their UI a bit more with some or all of the options outlined in my sig thread, this might be more widely known and there'd be less confusion as a result with more focus on gameplay.

alright i checked it and it seems you are right, i didn't realize each cp increased base stats. i'd have to actually test w/ ftc to see if values are correct tho, if zos cant get a tooltip to work properly then who knows if dmg increase actually does what it should
