I use it in Cyrodiil, horseback, and when farming resources. Otherwise, first person, even in combat. I like to get up close and personal with my kills, but Cyrodiil needs more situational awareness than first person offers.
For exploring the world and zones= First person is beautiful and amazing.
For combat and situational awareness= Third person really must be used unless you have become extremely skilled with visual cues.
I play in PvP far too often to go into First Person. Third person makes it much easier to see and grasp the world around me than first and react to it fast enough. First person only lets me experience and enjoy the world...
If possible, I would enjoy some fixes to allow first person to be used in competitive situations effectively without decreasing possible situational awareness.
Wish I had 3P view IRL; having it only in ESO will have to suffice so I certainly take full advantage of it there.
Except if i want to examine something as closely as possible or when I take a non-selfie screenshot.
Very, very, rarely .. I don't know how people can play this 100% first-person when fights require 360 'vision; I guess it's 'realistic' not to be able to see behind you but I prefer playing the game rather than endless rezzing at a Wayshrine due to being nailed from behind.
I use it all the time when i'm alone in pve or pvp but when i need to be good ( dungeons trials or guild group pvp ) i just use the 3rd person view.... you know red circles and stuff...
I play ESO for playing an elder scrolls game. I've always played in 1st person with the occasional zoom out to just look at my chars. That said, I'm not about too be an ass on difficult fights in dungeons, so I will swap to 3rd person to avoid uneeded dying or getting people killed. Otherwise it's all about immersion for me.
Would love to see some body awareness in the game (see you own body in 1st person) but more to the tune of games like Tribes, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah MnM or Chronicles of Riddick. I don't mean full-camera-bobbing-stomach-churning-crap that most people assume it "has to be" when others ask for body awareness.

The problem with 1st person in video games is lack of peripheral vision. It never renders the way it really would in reality and has a tendency to make me motion sick. 3rd person gives the bigger picture and makes many tasks easier in my opinion.
Always except when taking screenshots. 100% first person player going back to the original Wolfenstein and Doom; can't orientate myself properly in 3rd person as it feels so unnatural. This is one of the reasons why I don't PvP.
Almost always, TPP makes me dizzy (literally). But I do PvE most of the time, and I indeed think TPP (and I switch the viev when fighting in a large group) is much better for PvP.

all the time (other then when forced in to 3rd person) Sure it is not as good as 3rd person for seeing the markers but once you learn it actually is quite fun and makes the game a bit tougher.
I like to solo some lower level dungeons in first person changes the game completely. Would really like to see an achievement for it, Like an instance would be locked in first person and we would get more points for completing it that way or just another achievement to add to the list

From patch notes long forgotten:
"Fixed an issue if you had a summoned pet, it could potentially be grabbed by an invisible Molag-Bal and get stuck in a floating posture."
"Dogs can no longer teleport while chasing cats (much to the disappointment of the dogs)."
I played in 1st person view for years (the previous ES games), and in ESO I switched to 3rd person a few months ago (I never thought I ever would) just to check out some skills and their visual range etc. .. I don't want to go back to 1st.
When I started in ESO I used the first person view all the time because it was how I played in the single player games, but in group content it is more useful to play in third person to better see AoE attacks and healing, general positioning etc.
