Actually, what you listed is exactly the reason why NOT having a global AH is good.

If you put in the time and effort, you can find good deals.

And no, it's not an abuse. No-one is forcing the buyer to buy the first they find. A smart buyer will spend the time and effort to find a good deal instead.

    The price is determined by

    A. What someone is willing to sell it for
    B. What someone is willing to buy it for

The price is NOT determined by..

    A. Some addon that tallies average rates
    B. People in zone saying they wouldnt pay X for Y
    C. Feelings.

Frankly these addons are garbage and shouldnt exist. You will pay me what I am asking, or you go elsewhere. Haggling MIGHT get you somewhere, if I am in a good mood. Its pretty simple. If you know someone cheaper, AWESOME thats capitalism. But I aint changing my prices because someone datamined and posted a series of numbers for people to base it off of.

Remember, the guy telling you "i just bought that for half of the price" may very well be trying to lie to you to buy it for half price and resell it, leaving you the loser. Set your own value and stick to it.

I make a circuit of every guild kiosk in the game 1-2 times a week. (yes all of them, every zone, takes a few minutes per zone), checking for specific items. Youd be amazed how many awesome deals I get that I then resell higher (or craft into product to push, or craft into useable consumables for myself like potions). Does this make me a bad guy? Nope, because the people selling it set their price, and they got their payment for what they were willing to part with. 100 bugloss for 600 gold? Hey thats what it was worth to him. Dont care that its actually worth 30 times that to many. Didnt matter to him did it, and it sure doesnt matter to me. Hell, most of you flower pickers overprice as it is. I do my own farming for the most part anyway.

lmao yea actually ill pay and or buy for what ever I FEEL like. its awesome because since its a video game we can all do that and pretend we sooo biggity bad! rofl
i boy cott guild traders and sell in chat, why cause its what i feel like. guess prices are determined by feelings sometimes, or the people in zone chat, or an addon i use for refference. <3

All this tells me is that you found some Muppet who couldn't be bothered to find a 5 gold mats (circa 3700 each) and do it hims/herself.

Nothing else *shrugs* Wouldn't matter if it was in a guild store or an AH.

Actually these addons are great. They're great for the buyer who wants a fair price, and great for the seller who wants to sell at a fair price and maintain a good reputation.

If I understand this screen shot, you found a really good deal and then turned around and undersold what most purple items were going for, after you used up gold mats to improve it.

What's the problem? You found a good deal and still gave your buyer a bargain. The difference minus costs is your profit.

People buy stuff because they are there and the price is acceptable. It might be cheaper elsewhere, or more expensive. That is the great thing about having an economy that is also driven by location and not just the global, or regional, lowest price. It is very interesting to see all of the different Master Merchant values that people post in chat for the same item. To me, it means that there is something like an actual economy, complete with price differences across sales locations.

agree, it is very hard for new player to get anything from the store or sale anything. because it take rather long time to figure out which price is close to "standard price"(if there is one)

GW2 is doing really well with their global cross sever auction house system..

Now to be fair why didn't you post pictures of the other 20 merchants with give away prices? Oh, that don't fit into your agenda?

There is nothing wrong with the system they have and the guilds with merchants are always recruiting. Join one or two.

Never listen to the naysayers, ZOS, you are doing this right - or at the very least, you're not making the same mistakes other MMOs have made in this area. The way you are handling the in-game economy is innovative and refreshing, while keeping things in a mildly roleplaying context.

Plus, by doing so, you may actually have cracked the inflation problem that bedevils other MMO economies that do have global AHs.

    Keep it up, don't waver!

Op. you spent the time to find your product. Then you put more time in "upgrading" the product. How would you feel if you go to sell it in a GAH and now you cant make a profit, because there are 100 other ppl undercutting your price?
Yeah, you may be able to stick a 200k price tag on them, but does it mean they will sell for that? If you can get it, then by all mean, do it. ZOS/ESO should not have to protect us from our own stupidity. Plus, this is an RPG, with role in high regard. I like to RP, and a GAH ruins the whole feel of it. To me a GAH is for those that want to just farm, and have a "easy" button to do it.
I cant bring my self to use any addons, because it makes me feel like Im cheating. The game is good without all that. Where the imagination? The game can only "give" you so much.....

nah i disagree. runescape had a great economy until grand exchange came out.. since then everyones maxed out with the best equips.. dont want ESO ending up like that.. better to farm your own stuff instead of buying off other people and having an public auction marketplace is just gonna make everyone have easy access to everything
    I'm outta here
