That havent played an MMO in 5 years. They are interested in ESO now that it is b2p. What would you recommend i show them that would get them to want to buy the game? I am only v2 (ad). I dont want to sound like a salesman when they are here I just want to show them some cool gameplay that would convince them to buy a copy of the game.

Thanks in advance

Large group pvp (if they like pvp), a vet dungeon, and a dark anchor. Covers a few areas

i would have choosen to show people the awesome atmosphere of the game, the surroundings and how the quest system works just running around doing public dungeons and such. then a quick run in pvp and show them some fights (with both up close combat and with war machines) and maybe even some crafting if they would be into that.
What ever you do, dont tell them they need to choose an alliance in the beginning and that they then are forced to play the other alliances aswell either way and that they wont see any of the players from the other alliances unless they play pvp minigame. or that they cant count on getting any help from you who have already done the quests since you will be in another phase then they are (unless they changed this already, dont know have no friends left in the game). Better to lie and make them think its actually matters what you choose anyway =).

Chose vet ranks zones and solo dungeons. This zones almost lag-free.
Don't go to pvp, if they don't ask you.

Show them whatever you think they'll like most.

If it was me you were trying to convince I'd say show them how the class system works - that you can pick your weapons and armour independently of your class skills and you get a bunch of extra skill lines from quests. Then show them how open-world PvE works (no kill stealing, relative freedom to explore), and in the process show them how beautiful the world is and some of the fun things that can only happen in an MMO like random strangers coming to help you out.

But if they're more like my husband I'd say show them Cyrodiil, ideally a huge battle with siege and as many players as possible. Whereas one of my friends would be more interested in end-game PvE for small groups and whether it's really challenging or simply hacking away at HP sponge bosses.

Let each of them wake up in Vulkhel Guard with a new char (no tutorial) and let them play the starter island by themselves(!) for 30 mins while you drink with the other two next door. It's imperative that you give them a chance to get immersed.

Then after show them a dungeon run through the blessed crucible.

Don't show them PVP. Watching all that riding will turn them off.

Oh and show them one of deltias build videos, so they can see how intelligent builds can be in terms of synergies between skills.

uhhh theres nothing new that wasnt there already , aside from justice system. if they didnt want to give a chance before doubt anything you show them is gonna change that. never know tho, maybe show them the awesome stablitlity of cyrodil and dungeons? oh i know the crown store!

Do this. Nothing beats hands-on experience. Don't just show, let them play. :) Hopefully the early areas won't be too crowded. And make sure it isn't Bleakrock, that one's kinda boring.

Don't know though, I left shortly after beta due to the horrid bugs and exploits and came back a few months ago. Despite the shortcomings and problems, it was still more enjoyable than initially. So there might be a chance yet.

Why not provide them with the avenues to decide for themselves?
Personally, if I were interested in an mmo, my opinion ultimately matters so I would buy it anyway.$60 won't break me in the least though, and I've purchased other games with disappointment had.

If you have a non veteran alt, maybe around lvl30-40, show them some PvP on the non veteran campaign. It is lag free even when all fractions are pop locked and a lot of fun.

The most impressive first impression that you will have is the open country graphics. Hopefully you can run Ultra or something like that on a nice monitor.

After that, if they are TES fans, the starter islands with a new character and the main starter cities (Daggerfall, Devon's Watch, Vulkhel Guard) and the surrounding areas easily demonstrate that this is an Elder Scrolls game.

If they are PVP types, then you have to go to Cyrodiil. I am a TES fan that had no interest in ESO and I am not a PVP person. Surprisingly, what finally sold me on the game was being in stealth next to a road near Chalman during one of the beta weekends and watching a steady stream of a couple hundred DC on horses riding past me on the way to attack Chalman. Had I not participated in two of the beta weekends and been able to see that, I would not be here today. I am still not interested in PVP, but the Alliance War, that is worth playing.

I'd show them the character creation menu and talk about the factions, races, and classes. Also would show them some veteran content and various gear sets... and and and... the beautiful scenery. c:

What really captivated me, however.... was the community. ;) Maybe show them the eso twitch streams or meet up with some in game buddies. Joining ESO with little to no social aspect can be kind of lonely. Once I threw myself into the community, the game seemed to have blossomed into an entirely different light.

I didn't dislike it, but it is less captivating than Stros M'Kai or Khenarti's Roost. The first has a pirate feel, hidden treasue chest and a nice small Dwemer part, the second is the most exotic and has Razum-dar, while Bleakrock has... just more snow and Nords. I had enough of that in Skyrim. The Frozen Man was awesome, though.

Of course, EP and DC have another starter area, but I'm talking about the first impression.

Honestly? Show them the Character Creator. Let them mess around with it. Then show them your V2 and go beat up some mobs, show them how the combat works.

Then show them some of the different armor type and weapon types they can make with the crafting system. Then maybe venture into Cyrodiil, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THORNBLADE FOR THIS PORTION OF THE DEMONSTRATION.

Razum-dar is one of their better characters connected to one of the best story lines. Yes go AD.
