More Skill Points Please!

I was working on crafting on an alternate character and the thought hit me, "Why should I have to do this? I already have it on my main." Well it is because in order to unlock all the combat stuff you need those skill points. So why can't we collect all the skills on one character if we have the mind and dedication to do so?

"Well there needs to be choice!" Well isn't the choice the fact I am locked to only using 12 total skills on my character at a time? Even if I had 1000 skills to use, I can only use 12 at a time (5 per weapon swap plus ultimate) and not like you can swap them out in combat!

"Well, passives!" It only takes 186 skill points to get EVERY PASSIVE in the game. With a total of approximately 300-320 skill points in the game, that skills leaves plenty to be able to get every passive in the game plus the handful of skills and morphs you want for your character.

"What about the gold dump via respecs?" Once you have enough points, who is going to respec anyway? If you moved crafting to an alternate character, you can feasible unlock everything that you desire with minimal respecs. Plus, you would still need to respec attributes if you were switching roles more then likely and of coarse the Champion System, until you get all 3600 Champion Points.

So for those of us that only want to work on a single character, why can we not unlock every skill on one character? Please add more skill points so I do not have to waste my time on an alternate that I really do not want to play just so I can move my already maxed out crafting to a character that's sole purpose is to free up skill points off my main.

Why not give us 1 skill point for every 10 Champion Points we earn? By the time we get done maxing out our Champion Point tree, it would grant us an additional 360 skill points (might be a tad overkill so feel free to tweak numbers), then all Zenimax would need to do is when it releases new skill lines, offer ways to earn enough skill points (Skyshards, Quests, etc) to max out those lines.

Obviously, gaining every skill point in the game to get EVERY skill would take time, it honestly already takes a lot of time to get those 300-320 skill points but for those of us dedicated to one character we can do that! It theoretically would take less time, if you had a specific build in mind, to roll an alternate character and all the power to the people who want to do that but speaking for myself, I would rather take 10x longer to do everything on one character then make an alternate character just because it is faster!

Thoughts?

I don't think there needs to be more skill points. I think there is already a ton of them, and not having enough skill points to open and morph every skills means you need to make meaningful choices. Personally, I have one character who does every single craft to open up skill points on my others (and to only have to find motifs once), but I could have easily learned one craft on my main and still had enough skill points to build my character for sure. It makes you decide "is doing this craft, worth giving up the skill points I could use to open up skills in X skill tree?" And I like it.

[EDIT] As well, with the thought of people only wanting to play one character, well.. back to my point about meaningful choices. Crafting for instance, is already quite easy for anyone to do, the need for crafters (or the market to sell crafted items) would be even smaller than the small market it already is. If you want to be a crafter, you need to give up opening a couple skills.. and really, we only have 10 slots we can use at a time, do you really need to have every skill unlocked? I feel that while levelling should be your time to check out the skills and see if you like them.. that way you can respec and play around while the cost isn't extraordinary. By the time you reach much higher levels, you should have a good idea of what skills you enjoy and/or will actually ever use.

Sorry. totally meant to edit my first post, not quote myself. lol

i've 302 atm, well are enough for play with multispec and having all crafting skills on my main, but i'd like to have more aswell so actually i'm grinding in pvp just for them XD i mean 300 is fine you don't miss anything and you can place them also in useless skills, BUT sometimes when i'm bored i like to play a bit with a different spec and i've to spend 15k for respec and 15k for respec back again + all the wasted time for put skills back ... dunno i prefer to play just with one char and i like to play in many ways the same char without respeccing each time, but put skill points on champ point system is not a nice idea, the system is shared between char so won't work as it should be:P maybe with future DLCs put more skyshards and skillpointsquest for make us happy:P

I don't know why i'm away help Valaste and missed 2 skill points every alts. I think would be better if gain that additional unnecessary skill points via achievement. I'm too lazy to grind and prefer go fishing.

My only minor gripe is when they add an entirely new skill line (*cough*legerdemain*cough*), and don't add a few new skill point sources to go along with it.

Feel like there is already enough skill points in the game.

With leveling + quests + Skyshards + PvP ranks my character has enough points for multiple crafts as well as multiple different combat builds between all three Armour types.

Ah, that I can understand. Although I still stay footed on the fact that I think there are already plenty in the game. I would enjoy to see new skyshards/sp quests in any future DLC, that may be why they released the new line without instantly available skill points to make up for it. They could be introducing DLC with skill points - with no new skill line... therefore it would make up for it, would just be a gap in time.

I have all crafting and passives unlocked (with exception, undaunted, pvp) with 2 weapons maxed and the abilities/morphs I use and still have not gotten the Craglorn shards yet.

    Craglorn anyone?

Yes, this should be addressed. And I'm sure in the future we will see other skill lines added.

Need an addition of sources to gain skill points to keep up yah?
