While sort of counter intuitive, you also have to realize that you lose the ability to light/heavy attack from range, your light/heavy attack dmg is scaling on stamina/weapon power instead of magicka/spell power, and your full heavy attacks will restore stamina instead of magicka. Basically, you still want to use staffs as a magicka user anyways.

It's still really silly. If any sorcs are like me, their second bar (IE not destro with force pulse) is generally utility + execute, or power overload ult with the execute on that bar but still using the spell damage from the weapons you use to start power overload. You're generally not worried about weaving light or heavy attacks when you're using this bar, and it makes it silly that I will do more damage with my execute (or liquid lightning) by using a 2h sword or dual wielding (which also gives you a chance at an extra set bonus). Sorcs really should get some kind of passive that increases their spell damage when using a staff that puts them just a smidge ahead of other classes using a staff.
