I read once or twice about disparity and the gap between older and newer players in ESO

my answer is that the focus of developers should not be on offering new ways to customize the toon, but to create new activities.

in swtor for instance, people spend their time playing a hand full of warzones over and over again (instanced pvp-matches of around 15 minutes) and
it's fun, because if teamwork works fine it's an enjoyable match... ; especially pug-groups that work well are enjoyable (for me personally) and even close losses, let alone wins.

so, i think, if customizing toons (builds ) would "stop" at some point, there would be some time for new players to catch up and start optimizing too...the optimization would give a slight to consistent advantage but not be the ultimate thing to win, because pvp is teamwork (like soccer or volleyball)

with spellcrafting, i think, customization (building) should have a break.... how was it in EVE online? a paying new player should be able to savor end-game content just like an old paying player... the difference should not be crushing...

What do you think about this?

Cheers,

Any MMORPG is going to have disparity between new and old players. It's what happens in a game with character progression.

The only way they can fix this is to throw out the grind the old players slogged through to give the new players a faster way to level. Or the Enlightenment scheme that they have which is pretty decent, but counter productive really. As soon as I am unenlightened, I log out.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

If what you are saying is to dumb down the character features, options, possibilities etc in order to bring the new and experienced closer together in ability? Ummm. NO. New players can get on the treadmill and start working out just like the rest of us had to in order to shape up and get through the learning curve, which IS steep for some classes.
