Resto staff issue

On low health targets I get these interrupted attacks with the resto staff. It seems to be doing crappy damage when it happens. Anyone else getting this?
Also the attacks with the fire staff animation kind of stinks. Why did they change that?

danovic✭✭✭If the target has any dot's on it that will kill it the restore staff just stops working and you have to wait out the dots to kill it. Its kind of dumb you should be able to kill it faster then they dots. Reported the first day of 1.6 on pts and they still haven't done a darn thing. Yes don't like the fire staff either looks like i'm playing lacrosse and whipping fireballs.0 -
Lirkin✭✭✭✭Usually when it happens they have very little life left, and I am the only one attacking it, and it takes much longer to kill the mob because the attack staff stutters. I can kill much faster with another staff type. Frustrating.
The way the fire staff works now looks weird. It used to point at the mob but now looks like you are throwing the fire off the tip of the staff.
