An error worth mentioning to the General crowd

The other day after update, my launcher kept failing to update or repair. Kept getting "Error 1032 - OSError_Locked" with a message about closing the game. Ofc, I didn't have the game open so I retried half a dozen times thinking its just another stupid bug. Finally, I came and searched forum and found this discussion forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/79704/error-1032-oserror-locked

And lo and behold after pulling up task manager, ESO was somehow still running from the night before in my background. Force close. So I finally got updated, fixed the usual firewall error, repaired after 2 immediate crashes and playing.

Until today, when I closed out to check for an add on, rebooted and came back in to extreme lag, lag like I've never experienced. For ***** and giggles I pulled up task manager...oh look! I'm running double, no wonder the insane lag.

So, another thing to check for if all of a sudden you are experiencing crazier lag than ever before, ESO doesn't always shut down, sometimes it just hides :D
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

I always have the Task Manager open. It's a good policy to always have it available in the background. If you have a hang in the game, you can usually ALT-TAB out instead of going through the CTRL-ALT-DEL routine.

FWIW, ESO never exits cleanly. If you look at the Quick-Launch portion of your Task Bar after you exit the game, you'll find as many as six of those ESO circular symbols (dragon heads eating dragon tails) shown. If you mouse over them one-by-one, they'll disappear (one-by-one). If the game was exiting cleanly, there'd be none there at all.

    So very true.
If I die tomorrow I do not want to think of the game I could of played today, therefor I will play whatever I want today while securing a future to play in as well.

A true gamer will think of all the possible outcomes and execute the one that is the hardest to accomplish.

    Wut?
It's an OS problem, not a game.
