I realize everythings perfect on him, I'm double checking everything. I'm SO HAPPY to be starting him, perfect!

I get in game, mount up, and realize he has a little girly voice.

Now I hate my life. I don't know when I'll get another delete.

How the hell did I miss the voice thing? UGH.

The voices are tricky until I learned to listen to all the sounds before making a choice. I picked one voice because I like the laugh, only to find the grunts and groans and yelps were just annoying.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I saw new delete appeared on my account after ~3 days or so. Don't remember exactly. So just wait and you will be able to delete chars again soon :)

The delete limit can be annoying, but it's a necessary evil, and I think one of the biggest reasons you don't see constant gold seller spam in chat, like we did when the game first released.

I'm not laughing at you OP, because the voice thing I can understand (I'm a one character type of girl and decided to redo my entire toon to look virtually the exact same but I had to change the voice)

But all of these "delete limit" threads are hilarious to me, because I didn't even know this was an issue for some people. There's just sooo many of them.

Back when the limit was first introduced there were a ton of threads on the subject. I remember a few in broken English that sounded suspiciously like some of the goldseller spam I'd been getting... though that could simply be my memory messing with me in hindsight.

Before the limit there were serious botting problems in the game. You'd enter a delve and see the delve's boss ringed, literally ringed with identical soul shriven rags characters. You'd walk into the room and they'd all fire off that first Aedric Spear attack or Assassin's Blade. The boss would drop dead, and it was actually impossible to complete the delve. You'd go someplace like windhelm, and see bots talking to a character, then zipping across town. Literally flying through walls and over buildings, to the quest turn in. There was no real point in reporting them because as soon as they got to their destination they'd mail their gold to a handler, be deleted, and replaced with new ones on the same account. And the unholy cycle would continue. So by the time you filed your report, the character would no longer exist.

Now we have Buy to Play, there's no subscription model, and... suddenly, out of nowhere, these threads start popping up. Then people, legitimate users see that and go, "hey, I want that too." And, here we are.

The voice selection is aweful and made worse by the terrible auditioning facility. Unless you go through all variations it's easy as someone earlier said they did to pick a voice for one aspect but then cringe when they do something else.

I totally hear you! (no pun intended)

I did something similar with my templar. She's the twin of a friend's DK. She sent me screenshots of her character creation screens and I spent a considerable amount of time to get her just right. I went for almost identical, but not quite. Hit "create" and realized I had put her in the wrong faction. >_<

Another thing that's funny: In my guild, pretty much everybody has alts and sometimes when we take them out, one of my friend's alts has the same voice as my main character and it throws me off when I hear her.

Yep, I remember the botters which is why I don't have a problem with the delete limits.

I just think it's so funny that people create and delete characters at such a rate that the delete limit affects them this much.

Yeah, to date I've deleted precisely 1 character off my account. I rolled up a Khajiit briefly to check their passives and then nuked them. I honestly don't get the people that delete lots of characters in an MMO. I mean, I put 200 hours into this character... I'm not just going to toss them on a whim.

Well, people approach the game in different ways. Some people really like alts. Some people come up with a number of character concepts (both from an RP perspective and from a class/race perspective) and try them out before they settle on one.

Some people are very picky about what their character looks like and the creation interface is not very good at giving you the exact final look of your character.

I've also only deleted one character so far, because I decided that I wanted a second nightblade more than a third DK. But I still think I should have a khajiit nightblade as well, but I also want a second templar.

So I see why some people would feel the need to delete multiple characters. And I think if they ever sell extra character slots in the Crown store, that will be a very popular purchase.

Actually it's the only character I'm willing to play. I have 7 others from before I quit the game many MANY months ago, but I have no desire to play them.

So I'm basically stuck without playing until I get another option to delete.

I've never understood why all games make the voice selection dependent on picking between different versions of "WAAARRRGGGHHH!!!" rather than an assortment of situational speech extracts.

That said, I've also never understood why about 11 character creations (8 slots with 3 deletes) plus the same again on the other mega-server and PTS for those with an almost obsessive approach to character selection and plenty of hard drive space simply aren't enough. Use them to experiment and then pick the final choice, implement the design features and only at that stage apply the name of your choice. How ironic would it be if after all that the preferred name isn't available  ?!

And yes, given the absurd number of complaints about this, I cannot believe half of them and am highly dubious as to their true motive.

Mostly cause it's all you will ever really hear, your character isn't voiced in this game.

And I can tell you from experience that the way I sound when I roar/yell is not at all like the way I sound when I speak normally.

I always cycle through the sounds several times in each Voice A - G(i think) selection. Voice E or was it F, seems to suit a Redguard Male so I tend to always pick it if creating a Redguard. Forgot what voice I picked for my Main, A Breton Male Templar way back during Launch but am glad he sounds like a male.

It is the laugh that makes the choice for me. If you pick a deep heavy voice laugh (not too heavy for non Orc Male races, but it will be fun to hear an orc with no bass in his voice), chances are Battle shouts will be more male-like if I may say.
