It still "aims" in the same way, however it is also cast instantly. This and negate come to mind as ultimate's that were changed this way. You can still aim for where you want, you just need to hope that its going to cover what you want it to, but at least its instant. (Saying this as someone who doesn't like the instant cast on ultimate's).

Thanks. So, does it spawn at the point on the ground where the pointer is aimed at? Or does it spawn near a targeted enemy? Also, do you know when this change was introduced? I have combed through the patch notes and cannot find any mention of this change.
That's not true. At least in my experience. Whenever I use the atronach, it appears where ever my crosshair is pointing on the ground. Sometimes it seems to appear at a targeted enemy's location, but I can't verify that.TheFamousMockingbird wrote: »The change I had to adapt to in 1.6 was that sorc ultimates, and the Templar Nova ultimate became PBAoE. Took me several messed up ultimate drops in heated combat before I figured it out. So now you really can't "target" them anymore like you used to. They essentially go off right around where your toon is standing. I really prefer the old targeting system for these.
