The Ability For A Master Crafter To Change the Trait On Any Weapon or Armor Piece of Equipment

This has been asked time and time again in the forums since ESO launch and has never been answered by ZOS. I for one see no reason why a Master Crafter should not have the capability to change traits on armor or weapons. Why ZOS has continued to ignore this request or even address it is beyond me.

    I believe some of the powerful dropped sets were balanced around having a crap trait like exploration.

    The biggest issue I can see is the would need to code around the bound equipment issue to make this profitable for crafters.
    Even if this meant only crafters could upgrade their own items, this would be a lot better.

    I would like to see players when they are L50 in a crafting skill and have all 9 traits researched, they can change the trait on that item, but the item still stays bound. This would give a reason to be a 9 trait researched crafter, cause the 9 trait armor set is useless.

    * add extra tab to crafting window of Blacksmith/cloth/woodw
    * 2 slots to add 2 pieces of gear
    * 3th slot to add conversion/transmutation stone (rare item)
    * ability to choose of one of the 2 pieces of gear:
    - appearence
    - stats+set
    - trait
    - Glyph
    *button at the bottom Converse/transmutate/whateveruwannecallit

    (only works with same armortype & piece of gear, ex Heavy helm with heavy helm)

    I would love to see this implemented also being able to craft rings and neck pieces

    That would make rerunning trials for gear obsolete! If everyone could take that one item they wanted and got with a crappy trait, but had the ability to change that crappy trait to one they wanted would give them no reason to run the dungeon 100 times.

    I would love the ability to change existing traits instead of having to re-craft new armor but I doubt we'll ever get it.

    Unless the forge to do this was at the end of a trials run and you could only use it once per run. But if they did that, so many players with low level alts crafters would yell and scream.

    The reason this hasn't been implemented is because the R&D team is sadistic.

    they have the traits to balance the set im prettysure tho training,sturdy and exploration are silly to be put on them,

    something that id liketo be seen implemented would be to able to extract glyphs from sets u have put ur own enchants into or even a chance to get some of the stones back, and a chance to get more than one legendary mat back as it takes 8 to upgrade em and u can only have a chance to get 1 back !

    Something like this would be interesting, but I would see it working best if it requires a couple of high end drop to make it work, and the resulting product is a one time use trait change consumable.

    For example: trials bosses drop powder of trait change.

    Undaunted chests drops liquid of trait change.

    PvP dolmen chests drop solvent of trait change

    Max level alchemist combines liquid with rare herbs ( rare drop from any alchemy node)to create elixer of trait change.

    Max level provisioner combines powder with rare ingredient ( rare drop from any provisioning node) to create essence of trait change.

    Max level Smith with 9 traits in chest combines elixer and essence with solvent and a stack of infused trait stones to create Chest slot armour polish of infused trait. Tradeable, single use.

    This is all just thinking out loud, but what I'm getting at is that it should require multiple rare drops from different aspects of the game, multiple max level crafters, and considerable time effort and energy to do.

    Nothing is going to become broken if you get a small percentage of extra base stats from a bad trait set.
