I was thinking that the frequent partial freezing, like a stuttering... was a PC RAM issue...makes sense. Time to upgrade.
Before patch 1.6 ESO would sit at around 1.7gigs of ram
Now it slowly increases to 2gigs and when it hit that mark, the game dies. It either freezes like you said, or it will crash out with an error message.
It happens faster if I swap between a lot of alts. Seems to be a memory leak issue. Not a hardware issue, but a software problem, the ESO client is growing larger then is was designed to (32 bit application).

I can second this. If I start switching my alts (which I will do every day) the game will crash after I log in on the 5th or 6th one.

No idea what causes it but it's far more frequent post-1.6 and even more so in 2.0.x

ESO is a 32bit application and even on a 64 bit OS, its limit is normally 2gig unless you have /LARGEADDRESSAWARE turned on.Same problem here, But running 16Gigs of memory, 64 bit OS, so I get my freezes at about 3.4 Gig usage by TESO, plus or minus .1 Gig.
Usually when playing the required 'my little pony musical chairs' with my 8 alts, on or about the 6th alt.
