Hoping for some atention from @Zos. After 1.6.5 game start sometimes completly freeze and not responding, until "kill" it through manager. Happens absolute randomly.

It happens sometimes. Seems to happen a bit more often lately.

Usually the Freeze sorts itself after a moment, but now I have to do a force restart of the PC to clear it out.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yeah, this is becoming more of a problem lately. It's occurring at least once on a daily basis. At completely random times. You can be running along in a town or out in the wilderness and complete freeze. In a dungeon or not in one. There's no pattern to it's cause yet.

I've noted than that happens when the game consumes 2GB of memory on my Task Manager....

I was thinking that the frequent partial freezing, like a stuttering... was a PC RAM issue...makes sense. Time to upgrade.

Same here, the game freezes very frequently after update 6.
Before, this happened maybe once per months or even less, and now I'm lucky if it does NOT happen within one hour.

Edit: it also doesn't matter what I'm doing in that moment, I can be fighting or I can be just standing around looking in my inventory. No difference, it just happens.

Sorry, it's not a Ram issue when the system it's freezing on has 32GB. It's not a video card issue either as it's on a less than 6 month old 970 GTX. The EU server noted freezes of up to 15 seconds at a time. They would have a freeze and pick right up where they left off after the freeze as if the game was paused. That's server sided, not individual.

Before patch 1.6 ESO would sit at around 1.7gigs of ram
Now it slowly increases to 2gigs and when it hit that mark, the game dies. It either freezes like you said, or it will crash out with an error message.

It happens faster if I swap between a lot of alts. Seems to be a memory leak issue. Not a hardware issue, but a software problem, the ESO client is growing larger then is was designed to (32 bit application).

I can second this. If I start switching my alts (which I will do every day) the game will crash after I log in on the 5th or 6th one.

I can login with up to 3 in a row, then it's gone for sure.
Before the update, I didn't have a problem to login all 8 characters in a row.

Ok I'm not the only one getting this.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/160284/game-freezing-near-sentinel-bank

So far for me it's only happening near the Sentinel bank, and I stress "so far" because I expect it will start occurring in other places.

When you alt control delete and kill the ESO client, can you post the memory usage here, I want to see if most players are hitting the 2gig mark when their client dies

I've been getting random 1-3 second freezes right before I am about to die usually. Generally when I am very low hp.

Happens to me a lot, especially when mounting up quickly after using a Wayshrine. It's definitely not a RAM issue:

    f66e08ad71.png.

No idea what causes it but it's far more frequent post-1.6 and even more so in 2.0.x

2Gigs as others said, seems like after that point game dies.

It happens to me when I am running up to the bank of Davons Watch usually. No idea why I only have it there. I even had some contact with CS. They asked me to modify some variables in the usersettings ini. It helped a bit. Yet yesterday it happened again.

This has been happening to me increasingly as well, and in fact I have to restart my laptop completely because ESO "blocks" everything else...the task manager won't even pull up in front of it, even when I tab out...I just get a solid black-background and my toolbar. When I try to tab to anything else, it just flips back behind the black background of ESO.

I haven't crashed to desktop like this in a long time. I suspect something might be broken with the most recent patch.

Ah, you too, huh? This place is cursed.. Whenever I leave the bank and walk/run down the stairs (between the bank and the bridge and water), it crashes or freezes, everytime at the exact same spot. But this only happens (to me) when I just logged in and want to go up/down the stairs. After it crashes and logging in again, my character is still standing there, of course, then I can finally move on. This is annoying as hell.
Sometimes I slowly move towards the stairs step by step until I notice a strong fps decrease, but even when I stop and wait for a while to make sure the game has finished loading everything around, it still crashes or freezes with the next step, same spot in the middle of the stairs.

A similar place I found in Rawl'kha where it tends to crash between the bank and the market place, also the same spot whenever it happens.
All the other crashes I had (or when the game freezes) happened at random places so far. But whenever it happens, the memory usage is about twice as high as normal.

It happened to me again last night only this time in Daggerfall. Memory usage was up over 1.8 GB and I bounce between alts all the time. 1.8 GB isn't unusual though.

I know this game used to have a memory leak so I wonder if that's somehow related to what's going on now.

Same problem here, But running 16Gigs of memory, 64 bit OS, so I get my freezes at about 3.4 Gig usage by TESO, plus or minus .1 Gig.

Usually when playing the required 'my little pony musical chairs' with my 8 alts, on or about the 6th alt.

ESO is a 32bit application and even on a 64 bit OS, its limit is normally 2gig unless you have /LARGEADDRESSAWARE turned on.

I thought ESO was not address space aware, so the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag did nothing. Will try changing that and see if I can get the application to go over 2gigs

I have 32 gigs of system ram, but so wish ESO was released in 64bit by default.
