Patch 2.0.2 - Rollback that absurd

Most idiotic patch game ever had and should be rollback fast as possible. Taking away real fights from players and turning it into mindless siege spam plus turning trials into cp farm spots. Bad direction. Patch 2.0 was good one, after fixes to Radiant spam probably best patch game ever had. Rollback 2.0.2!

Dunno if you knew this or not, but in the real world if a Massive flaming shot from a ballista hit you that would hurt, a lot (if it didn't kill you).

yes you can say "but this is Tamriel, not the real world" I'd have to remind you that Tamriel has a lot of physics of the real world.

Where's the LOL button when you need it? Stay out of the red circles -- you can literally just walk away from them and be fine. Once the wall goes down, charge in with your group and kill them. If someone is using it in open field, use a gap-closer. Is it that hard?

So big flaming high speed rock bad?

    I'll be darned.

OP Siege should hurt. The fact that before you could get out of the way (implying it was optional) was absurd. All they need to do now is increase the arc range of the ballistas.

EDIT: And for what it's worth, I assume if you are the one getting seiged, you and your brothers in arms all come out the front door for the mano a mano you proclaim?

Just like pretty much every other MMO in existence does the "get out of the red nasty" thing.

Dunno if you know but in real world catapults and balistas are not taken out of pocked in 1 second but take several hours or even days to be build and whole crew to operate them. So sure, keep dmg, add 3 hours deployment time and lets be fan of real world comparisions.

Yes keep seiges are actually using seige weapons. This how it should be. This is exactly what catapults and trebs were for. They give you you a huge warninng with teh red circle to get out of the way.

So now you cant just ignore seige weapons and think your group is unkillable.
If you are a vamp you have to be extra careful of fire ballistas.
Now, taking out a siege operator is very important. Snipers and sneaking /setting them on fire is a big deal.
The fighting skill is still there. be smart. In open world take out the seige operators
If there is too much siege defense try another side, or go take something else while they are all there.

This change is one of teh best things to happen to Cyrodiil

After seeing how many people complain about this... I wonder if anyone has bothered the think "maybe I should pay attention to the world around me"

Siege weapons are strong enough to break sturdy walls down but do nothing to players? Just stand in place while 5 people rain barrels of burning oil on you? No, the change is good. Burn for your lack of ability to pay attention (this coming from a vamp btw)

Now people will buy siege instead of buying 50 urns hoping to get footman and shadowalker rings. Don't nerf siege lots of us like it buffed. Far more than those that don't and am very cofident there wont be any changes. Especially for a very small handful of ppl who do not like it. I am just as vulenrable as the next person and love it. I got one shotted last night, still love it. I was running parrallell to BRK and not paying attention to my left flank and got smeared. It took no skill to hit one button for impulse and it took no skill to hit one button for bats. It takes no skill to bolt escape and I could go on but the point is I ran in predictable line straight I could have moved left and right but didn't and paid the price. Now I will try to be less predictable and I will try to not stand in one place for the 7 seconds it takes to reload and the many more seconds it takes me to aim. What does chap my hide is the LAG. The red circles do not show up in the lag and that does suck.

    Thanks Brian W.

theweakminded plese tell me how to get out of the area covered suddenly by 4+ balistas and terbs? Its too big to just rollout, im v1 so i get often 1shotted (27k dmagae from fire balista).

However this damage is way more realistic. They should make it do more damage near the centre, so you get hit for 5k on the edges and up to 20k in the middle, something like that

You're VR1... you shouldn't be trying to fight on the front lines unless you like dying quickly. Know your weaknesses and how you can still contribute to the Alliance War and still have fun. Sit behind your friendly siege equipment and heal, or sneak close to the wall and try to pick people off. Or, just like in FPS games, never stop moving around. As long as you are moving you will ALWAYS get out of the way of the slow siege AOE. Siege weapons and large groups of people are going to be targets, so avoid them. When the wall goes down, stay with your group and only engage if you have support. It's not hard, and figuring this stuff out is what makes things fun.

Seems to me like bad luck or being focused by an organized group. What I would recommend is do not sit on a siege weapon, hop on, shoot, move. It can reload with you 20m away. However, as a v1 you tell me having 4+ people on you isn't itself a detach sentence? 4v14s or 4 siege, its all the same. As for being v1 in pvp, ZOS has pretty much show Thai v1-v10ish shouldn't bother with pvp because of the battle level mechanic. My 42 dk has every stat higher than my v7 in purple gear/enchants in pvp from the battle leveling (officially stated vet ranks do not get battle leveled but battle level scales to v12 stats).

A strategy you may want to use is, while under siege, deploy counter siege.

A second strategy to use is avoid the large, flaming, objects flying at your head.

See that big red circle on the ground? That means you don't want to be there. Bad things are going to happen.

This is true. If you are paying attention you don't even need to dodge roll, to get out of them. Pay attention to your surroundings and see if anything's pointing your way, too. While my post yesterday was somewhat sarcastic, all of the points I mentioned are actually 100% true. I'll just quote it here...

"Think of it as a free L2P tutorial on the house! Soon you will master the skills of dodge rolling, equipping hit points on your gear and/or attributes instead of going overboard glass cannon, and how to not stand in the fire! Advanced courses include counter sieging, using the alliance war skills to make siege damage not hurt you as much in those cases you do get hit, and how to cleanse debuff through group wide communication, creating plans including but not limited to having a healer slot Purge, a a or a Templar leaving cleansing aura on the ground for you to synergize yourself!

Congratulations! Once you have mastered these lessons you will be prepared for basic Realm vs Realm play in Cyrodiil!"

Another thing, by the way, people ;)..... siege damage does get mitigated by armor/spell resistance. I tested this repeatedly last night with a couple of different values and time spent chasing red circles so I could get hit by siege weaponry during multiple sieges. Add "building some mitigation into your loadout with passives, set bonuses, and armor" into that as well :). @ZOS_BrianWheeler , the change by and large has brought Cyrodiil back towards the deeper beta gameplay and is great! I've seen a lot of commentary both ways but the general feeling I'm getting is that it's well-received anyways, and people will adapt over a short time instead of gleefully sitting inside of any red circles appearing. I'd like to humbly suggest that friendly siege weapon fire have a "green" outline similar to healing circles that are friendly, instead of the same "red" one as enemy siege fire. :)
