Nothing to do with the people who abuse it - it was an obvious problem that needed fixing. They increased xp in a lazy way, and it was ridiculously exploitable. Increase XP based on boss kills with more XP for each boss along the trial. Not that hard of a thing to do.

Yes, at the end of the trial, whether end boss or out of rez's.Nothing to do with the people who abuse it - it was an obvious problem that needed fixing. I'm sure people exploiting it had everything to do with the change. They should have made the XP apply at the end of the run once you reached the boss. Some groups still can't kill the bosses so as long as they make it there the XP should be awarded, not for each easy mob kill at the start. They could award the XP after going through a door to the boss area. Bosses should still give the most XP as it will give people incentives to still kill them.
They also need to drop better loot. Some trails like DSA are just worthless crap. The repair costs aren't recouped with the rewards. Even if you wipe a few times you should still make money from a trial. I'm not talking 10k + from gold pay outs but 3-5k would be decent and cover any repairs for the run.

As to the people that weren't exploiting and just 'didn't know any better,' they should have their CP's rolled back to pre 2.02, perhaps with interest. Not buying for a minute that anyone thought this was what they had in mind.

I agree with this. Until people have REAL consequences for their actions they will continue to cheat, find and abuse exploits that help them get the highest CP possible. That's all it's about for them. They want the end result now and aren't patient enough to wait for it. As long as there's no threat of LOSING CP this will just continue to occur. People will stop posting about them and just whisper to friends in the game. ZOS should be able to easily query trial runs to see who's doing them over and over and only progressing far enough to kill these high XP mobs.
I log on every day and do things that do not give CP and I don't look for ways to make that back up. There's so many CP points IMO they will take forever to get so I'm not worried about x number I get a day if any. Play and enjoy the game as it's intended. When you get a CP appreciate it as it's an achievement, apply it and move on to your next adventure!
My thoughts exactly. Upping the xp for mobs tenfold in combination with Hel Ra initial mobs is a no-brainer. If I were cynical I would now say "Shows how little the Zeni's know about their own game!"Should really have ben tested before made live.
I mean, did they not think about it?

So now they're going to lock up all the best XP mobs behind walls that solo players can't climb over? That's just WRONG.
