Hirelings are useless now

I believe bots have always been the driving source of mats and prices and bots will now produce more mats due to the greater refining drop rate. I came to this belief about the source of most mats on the market following the changes so long ago preventing the opening of level 1 hireling mails on level 3 alts. These changes did not change mat prices one bit indicating to me that people with hireling alts had never been a significant percentage of the market.
Really, bots? If that were true, why are there no threads complaining of bots. Hirelings do not seem a likely source of all the mats for sell, and the resulting price decline. The Refiner achievement generates LOTS of mats for sale. I have thousands of raw mats gathered chasing nirncrux. Bottom-line, this part of your argument is reaching. Bots are not responsible for all the mats. There are more obvious mat sources, including hirelings, for those with hireling on 8 alts.

Easy, when individuals bot on their personnel account it is really not noticeable. Their toons just look like they are out harvesting like all the other people that are out harvesting because that is the rout they recorded and are boting now. It does not look like it did near launch when 50 identical toons would be lined up at the identical node one after the other in perfect sequence. Individuals individually boting just don't stick out.

Perhaps I am mistaken and casuals selling raw mats to refiners may be the source. That scenario would look the same from a hireling standpoint as bots. It just boggles my mind that their could be so many casuals well enough connected with refiners and trade guilds to drown out the hireling factory systems many serious players had as a factor in pricing. That is what I saw in the previous hireling changes though.
I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.

When they re-set skill points, I'm glad I didn't invest anything in the equipment Hirelings. I did invest 2/3 points in the Provisioning Hirelings on a couple of characters. Seems worthwhile. A couple of purple recipes and plenty of food stuff including frost miriam (sp)

Well this goes to prove again to me to read the forums before doing very much in a new game...At least i only spent 1 point in the clothing hierling. The rest of the heirlings can stay at home and remain unemployed. Hes a lazy ass who spends most of his time at the local bucks sipping latte instead of gathering..
RP...i will speak to him when he returns next... evil grin

Consider this change encouragement to go out and actually farm and play the game. You're still getting something for free. I see nothing wrong with this.

I've maxed out the three crafting hirelings on my crafter toon and pre 1.6 pos 1.6 I'm seeing the same returns I always have, I get that it is frustrating for players who invested the time to max their crafters but beyond researching traits I don't see how this adds up to a huge investment of time. bulk mats can be easily obtained and the three armor/weapon crafts leveled very fast with a crafting buddy. The only system that I feel badly for is enchanting. I've been leveling an enchanter passively using dropped enchants from my higher level characters and even that has been ungodly slow, so I feel for those who have leveled it the "right" way.

My hireling results have been somewhat mixed, but what I really want them to fix is the time for them. I log in daily to collect the mail drops like most everyone else here, But I have a very hectic schedule and keep winding up logging in at 11pm no mater what I do. I'll skip a day and log in at 8am and it will last two or three days and then a bump in the schedule and its 5pm and another and its 10pm and then finally back to 11pm. REPEAT! AAAHHHHHHhhhhhhhh!

Instead Why not make it 5am EST for the American Server everyday. you can log in any time that day to get it and then the next day will be 5am. This way it does not matter if you have a hectic schedule or not you can log in once a day if you want to. After all, isn't that what ZOS wants, for us to log in everyday?!?

Also, with respect to enchanting, there should always, always, ALWAYS be an Aspect Rune in the mail!!!! I don't Care if its low level as long as it's there. I went for a month with no aspect runes. None in loot! Couldn't find any farming! I have the stupid plugin to show where they are all at on the map and still could not find any to farm. My Enchanter was stuck with no way to level up in enchanting! I eventually had to spend several days just going around to all the guild merchants to buy up Aspect Runes! I had over two hundred of the other two types and two dozen higher level Aspect Runes but was not high enough in the skill line to unlock the next level of skills. That was Frustrating!

Well, that's my two cents for crafting.

I use to get some form of legendary mat everyday on 1.5.7 through my hirelings. Now I haven't seen one since 1.6.6/2.0.1 went live. I haven't found one Kuta in the wild yet, more Ta then I care to see in vet10+ zones. Decon has been nerfed from what I can tell, could be wrong though. Refining I feel is the best way but it takes a while to get the raw mats needed.

    Wow!

I must be the most unlucky sob ever. I've had max crafting and max hirelings since last may, and never received a recipe. I've only gotten a few purple ingredients, 3 tomatoes previously but now nothing but junk. I get maybe two yellow tempers a month. That was checking twice a day, everyday until lately. I said to hell with it, and don't pay attention to what the bring. It's usually vendor trash now.

I have all possible 40 3/3 hirelings running for a long time and I still have them.
Yes they got heavily nerfed, but I think they are still worth to keep
I still get yellows (ok no Kuta yet) frequently.
I never tested it but I think it depends on the crafting level u have.
In BS WW and Clothing I have 2 chars with lv 9 and one at each lv 3-8 to get all relevant mats
    over time
    IMHO

I also have 3/3 on all 8 players in all crafts. I leveled enchanting aspect to 4/4 and extraction to 3/3 as well as potency to at least 4/9 on all 8 players. The other crafts are all at least 4/9 in each craft on all players. 3 of my players are completely maxed on all crafts. With that said, I have seen several gold mats, including Kuta, from the hirelings since the patch of 1.6. It is nowhere near what it was prior to the patch. But I still see them. I get more Golds from hirelings than I do writs I can say. I have done the writ quests on the 3 maxed players each day since patch. I have seen golds too with the writs, just not more than I do in hirelings.
