Upgrading Gear in 1.6, am I missing something or just stupid?

I acquired a VR14 set of Martial Knowledge, Legs, Waist, Boots, and Shoes for a pure DPS build I am going to try.
I upgraded every piece I had to GOLD with dreugh wax.
This increased the existing Max Magicka enchant on each piece of gear, as a I upgraded it. Yes, that is Normal. All stats were raised of course.
When I was ready to use my GOLD max magicka glyph, I noticed the enchant tooltip, with the gold enchant selected, didn't increase the magicka of the previewed new armor? I figured it was a tool-tip mistake so I used the enchant anyway. After using the gold max magicka enchant I checked the armor and again and no increase in max magicka was given with the gold glyph now attached to it.
So what is going on here? A bug? Or is upgrading gear now upgrade the enchant on it? I am confused. Now that I think about it maybe I should have kept an eye on my max magicka bar to check if magicka went up or not. I only upgraded 1 piece of armor with gold glyph because after I saw it did nothing, I saved the rest.

✭✭It's not a bug imo. Dropped gear sets have enchants that are consistent with item quality. A gold dropped item will have a gold enchant.
If you put a white glyph on crafted armor, don't expect it to become legendary when upgrading the armor piece though.Wololo.0
