Veteran Ranks should work like light levels in Destiny.

Basically you have a level 50 character..

If your character where's a full set of VR4 gear it fills up your bar to grant you enough veteran points to become VR4.

If you were to unequip the armor you would become back VR1.


This could be used instead of removing Veteran Ranks because it would remove the grind but still allow ZOS to make more powerful items.

Also this is a bigger example.

VR2 requires 14 Veteran points
VR3 requires 21 Veteran points
VR4 requires 28 Veteran points


you get the idea so of course mixing up armor could make you a studentdifferent VR.

Let's say you have 5 pieces of VR5 gear and 2 VR14 gear... your VR would be VR7

    Wouldn't this require a complete overhaul of all current VR gear and how gear is treated in VR in general? Why would there be any players who did not immediately equip a full set of crafted VR14 the second they hit level 50?

    Veteran Ranks should be thrown in the trash, burned, and then never talked about ever again...

    ...like a picture of you in college making out with a seriously fugly chick when you were black out drunk at a party...

    ZOS is going to remove them entirely from the game. That's what the Champion System was implemented to do. Presently due to all the changes to the horrific initial Veteran Rank system, VR14 is more akin to just being level 64.

    destiny had good gunplay, and nice graphics. but completely destroyed my lack of faith in bungie, they are not the same studio that worked on halo (most of them left) destiny is a horrid grind fest with no story that plays on the worst parts of the human brain to keep people playing. I could go on, but I wont.

    My idea is to basically build The VR system into our current system without the tedious items pruning and etc wasting dev time when they could be working on other problems.


    literally tying VR to the gear you equip would save so much time.


    also if helps understand stronger gear easily ( item level/gear score) because that's basically what VR gear would become.

    When future DLC are added instead of just making it stronger level 50 gear it would simply be VR16 gear which would be simple to understand.
