Yet another “wannabe game designer let me fix Cyrodil”

After reading PaulSage's post and many other threads by numerous people it seems we need some small scale battles around Cyrodil.

Right now the main, and only, object in PvP is to conquer and defend keeps, it is the only activities that gives AP and the “lines” between keeps are the most common spot to find other people.

It is really a shame because Cyrodil is a very extended territory and it is filled up only in a very tiny part.

Big fight between zergs around keeps are, in my opinion, very boring and without any type of skill (I’m talking about pugs).

It would be awesome to have some activities to do in small parties, like 3-5-8 players (I’m writing random numbers).

Following some ideas / activities / stuff to add to Cyrodil, I hope someone will find them intresting.
• The most simple thing to add are more dailies around Cyrodil, kill, talk, steal from NPCs, a good addition would be more experience if the quest is done in an enemy area, a nice incentive to move from your zone.
• Adding some “rare” wandering vampires and werewolfs that can infect players, it would be a very nice option instead of camping Bankorai (I’m DC) or buying a bite in trade chat. I’m sure there will be some groups going around looking for those NPCs and someone else trying to gank them!
• I pass through many NPCs camps, villages etc.. and I never gave a *** about them, I really don’t know why they are there. Just give them a sense. Anything would be fine, also loots like vr10 potions, crafting material, some decent experience given, the options are innumerable.
• The most rare material in the game is the Nirnonhed ore (don’t remember the exact name right now!), if some (3-4) spots can be added to Cyridoil where to mine/harvest/whatever Nirnonhed (in a small quantity of course) it would be great; a lot of people will start camping these spots (better if far away from keeps). Most likely it will be very hard to convince an entire raid / zerg group to go to a certain zone just to earn a crafting material worth “nothing” if needed to be divided between 20+ players.
In my opinion that addition would create many funny small group battles.
• Adding more resources like Mine, Farm and Lumbermill but smaller which can taken by a group of 4 players for example, the profit could be some vr10 food maybe (better than nothing), also if a faction control some of these resources the main Lumber/Farm/Mine will become more resistant, with more NPCs, by the way some incentive to go there!
• Another cool stuff could be that after the second or third Scroll controlled a faction will need a Moth Priest to read the additional one who can be saved somewhere in Cyrodill and brought in the faction keep.

These are just some ideas I got, I have many more but probably someone already wrote them on the forum.

The combat system in this game is very funny and skilled, the problem is the zerg vs zerg is killing this beautiful combat system.
Right now a small group of 2-3-4 person have to go between keeps and try to gank people, escape when a big zerg/raid is on the screen and most of the time die in a terrible way and have to ride, for 5 super-boring minutes, back to a decent position where to find a fight.
It would be awesome to add some areas with “rewards / incentives” where it is possible to have some small fights.

I’m sorry for my English, I hope everything is understandable.

I really want to hear what do you think and what can be added.

Yeah. If they can't fix the lag for large scale battles then they need to add these as suggested. Cyrodil is a really big place and they could easily add in small area's for groups to battle things out. There are small towns in each faction area so why not have quests/objectives setup towards taking them over. They could have these with a set group limit so say 10-15 players go capture the town. This would also give the opposing faction incentive to defend it and well as an opportunity to give quests/objectives to defend it.

There's so much more they could do with Cryrodil outside of the keeps. Hopefully they choose to do something.

Good points -- there is definitely much more than can be done to make Cyrodiil more interesting and dynamic. This thread also has a bunch of great ideas.

Those ideas seem pretty good. Decentralized combat in an area where large battles cause issues. Makes sense.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Oh zerging isn't fun? Holding a wall between 2 keeps and eventually pushing through, taking their keep and toasting over their corpses? Well i guess that's just 1-49 pvp. In veteran the average siege involves maybe 15 people and isn't really epic.
Pre Veteran PvP imo had all i wanted, proper sieges and proper fights, After that the groups size is minimal and it gets really elitist really fast.

    Never tried 1-49 PvP.
When I play with my guild raid is very funny to do big battle but it would be also good to have the possibility to play in a different way.

    They MUST fix the lag.

Cyrodiil was their only real "highlight" when they announced ESO and not even that is working properly? Sorry, that simply can't be real.

Mine, Farm and Lumbermill are already capturable by four people. In fact, just today I captured two of them with 2 people. It's hard, of course, and one mistake(or one enemy player :dizzy: ) can wipe you both, but it's absolutely doable.

As to what they could add:

    -Mobile super-bosses, like this idea:
    forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/1591775#Comment_1591775

-Bases that can spawn 'war vehicles'. For example mammoths or silt striders. These would have huge HP and would be able to carry up to four players. Attack bonus, defence bonus, mounted siege engines; The possibilities are endless.

-Daedric shrines and quests. Do a repeatable quest for a daedric prince, secure a buff for your alliance. Or perhaps give a player a daedric artifact for a brief time. Unique per campaign, vanishes after, say, 30', can be taken by the enemy for its remaining time if the wielder is killed, gives some area buff/ temporary skill line.

-better scouting quests. By definition, scouting is meant to give an advantage to your alliance. Make it so! Scouting an enemy keep successfully could spawn friendly NPCs when you attack it, for example.

-NPC legions. These would patrol the map. Trying to attack with anything but a raid would be suicide and the rewards for wiping it out would be noteworthy.

    Large scale fights?
20vs20 is not really large but enough to lag out a locked campaign.
