There's a lot wrong with you post. I'm just gonna point out one thing though. When you say DLC, do you mean you have to pay to get the DLC?
Why cant it be like GW2, have a living story? That's one of the best things that game has for it, alongside the PvP.
Why should I have to pay for minor upgrades to the game?
I don't mind paying for an expansion, but tiny upgrades, they should be free. Exception of outfits, cosmetic type stuff, mounts, stuff in that nature I'd be perfectly willing to pay for.
But content added to game like Living Story type stuff, it really should be free, if its not you'll separate the community as in those that have the DLC and those that don't. And that doesn't work, look at Everquest. GW2 giving everyone free new content, is doing very well with it.
I thought whole point of B2P was that you don't have to pay anymore to get new content unless its an expansion. Making new content and expecting people to pay for it, isn't a good strategy.
Ask yourselves ,is the little income worth losing playerbase??
Look at how other games handled things and what failed is likely to fail again and what was successful is likely to be successful again.

“You need to make sure there’s something for those players to do that’s new and refreshing on an ongoing basis. So […] we’re planning regular content updates and pretty substantial ones like every month to six weeks — we’re working on the actual cadence just now — but we’re already working on post-launch content.”

I'd also like to ask why did you leave GW2?
Haha I know right. Even assuming that you'd be someone who plays 10hours a day there are still lots of other games out there. Take a break come back when new content is addedI'm playing MMO games since '97. Started with Ultima Online.
And almost 20 years later , people still moaning for same thing for every single MMO. "There is no new content" for a game that released only 1 years ago.
I wonder if people will ever change after another 20 year.
