Dark Elf Voices

Brodycanuck
Is there a reason behind the Dark Elves sounding so English and jolly in this game? I'm not complaining, I'm actually wondering why they sound so different from Elder Scrolls: Morrowind.

Heres a video on Youtube if you forgot what they sounded like in that game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvkjmnRRcG4

everytime i make a d elf male in eso i lose most of time picking the voice.... almost all of them sound like kids or puberty teens... cant i have a d elf with the voice of nord or imperial or breton?! btw i love that dunmer voice from morrowind.

i like to think positive, the events of ESO date way back before Morrowind.
after all those years to what has happened to the Dark Elves and their History they probably adapted to change
alot of people look at this signature, i guess youre one of them.

In TES 3: Morrowind dunmers for years living side by side with devastating Blight storms started by Dagoth Ur. In next games you just meet dunmers who peacufully live in tupical landscapes.

    Dark Elf Voices

That would be an awesome name for a prog rock band.

    Sorry, totally off-topic, but seriously.

    Awesome. B)

To answer your question, simply, no two Elder Scrolls game had many similar actors.
You can compare the Morrowind to the more recent, fully voiced, iterations to see my point.

Eh... I really hope they will soon add something to adjust your character post-chargen. Since I have a few things I want to change on several of mine... my dark elf sorcerors voice is one of them...

You think they would keep it within a bit of similarity though. To me Dark Elves just aren't Dark Elves unless they sound like the ones from Morrowind, it just seems off to me. Feels like it isn't an Elder Scrolls game with little things like this.

Its not game breaking, but it is a little immersion breaking for me every time I hear a Dark Elf in ESO.

This was changed already in Oblivion.
And Skyrim kept the new accent and voice style.

Hmm looks like someone made a video about this 4 years ago, and the voice actor himself commented on it. lol.

Doesn't seem like there is any real answer why they changed the voices so drastically. I feel like it really defined the Dark Elves from the rest of the races.

Vvardenfell Dunmer vs. Dunmer from the rest of Morrowind. There are Dunmer in this game with those raspy ES3 voices, but they are rare.

Is there a reason why we can't choose that as our own characters voices though? I get that we don't start out in the same area that ES3 Morrowind took place in, but our character could have been from there, so he should still have the option I would think.
