Considering a return, how is the bot and gold farming control?

So I've been gone for a while now, probably since November or something. Shortly after release I starting coming across item farming bots and gold farming bots and eventually it just got out of control. They did make some moves to prevent that but it was at the expense of normal players being able to enter and re-enter areas for items that might drop or sets that we might be able to complete. Also farming resources was getting hard as bots were running around picking it all up.
So, how is it now? Still an issue? They claim its much better but only players will actually know for sure.

✭They have gone altogether to be honest. Haven't received a mail or seen one in quite some time.

Yea not into ESO's PVP, its a gank fest I was never interested in.
