Per a good friend that told me about this who is banned from the forums. They have found an easy fix to this bug and it's going to sound stupid, but just trust that it has worked I have been using it for a couple days and it fixed it 100% of the time for me.

FIX:

1. Exit your current game. (you don't need to exit the launcher though)
2. Start your game back up again.
3. Login normal like you do everytime.
4. When you enter the game world with any character the FIRST thing you do is press ESCAPE.
5. After pressing escape, stay on the escape menu for 20-30 seconds (just to be sure, I don't know if this actually helps but I don't want to risk it). Don't do anything other than stare at your escape menu.

After doing this you will not have your health bars or Chevrons disappear for your current play session. One drawback is you have to redo this if you crash or restart your game for any reason. You can do this to preemptively fix any problems before they occur, and also to fix the bug if you already have it.

I hope this helps everyone out as much as it has helped me and some close friends. I don't want to see anyone quit the game because of this stupid, stupid bug. Spread the word and let me know if this works for you. This has worked 100% of the time for me so far, but obviously the sample size is limited.
