Did anything change about potion quaffing mechanics?

Because during combat it's basically impossible to actually quaff a potion by pressing Q. Most of the time I get the 'not available' sound, even though there is no reason for it to be unavailable.
Unless something changed...
Will the plot thicken?

Nihili✭✭✭Something did change about potions, but I'm not sure about your problem specifically... Obviously you're saying when you try press Q and have a potion available it doesn't register?
To my knowledge they increased the cooldown time and increased the regen buff off of most potions, so that you can only get a potion once every like 40sec-1min or something. That was (roughly) the change to potions, but it doesn't sound relevant to you're problem - sorry

Valymer✭✭✭✭✭No, it's something else. It reminds me of how weapon swapping used to be...very unresponsive and seemingly laggy. Did they put potions on the same cooldown as abilities, whereas before they were separate? It seems like something like that.1

✭✭✭✭Yeah, there is no active cooldown, no effects on me that should disallow me from using a potion and the game registers my key press by playing the sound you hear when wanting to quaff a potion while having an active cooldown (and the potion is unavailable because of that).
This cooldown must be very long then, since I've had situations where I couldn't quaff a potion for no reason for at least 5+ seconds.They do seem to follow the global cooldown between ability use now. Highly annoying.

It may be unrelated, but I've had the exact same problem with mounting my horse after using an ability (about 2-5 seconds of spamming it but it won't work). With mounting there is a message though, something like "You can't mount right now" or something like that. They seem like identical problems but could end up being different bugs, it's hard to say.1 -

✭✭Yep been experiencing the same annoying several seconds worth of delay.... game registering keypress but not drinking the potion.
At best it screws with your rotation dropping your DPS, at worst it kills you.

I have also experienced not being able to drink my potion when there is no active cool down. It happens to me in Cyrodil, not really at all for me in pve land. Every time it happens it more often then not gets me killed, as I lose focus and begin raging as to why my dam potion won't work. When I don't die from it, the potion will be unusable until I either leave combat or switch weapons, or manually use it from my

Karamis_Vimardon✭✭✭✭From what I've noticed, potions cannot be used while an ability animation is in progress OR queued for animation. You have to wait until the animation has completed. Anyone else spotted this too?PC NA

If there is lag, there's no reason for it to play the 'unavailable' sound. It just would not quaff it. The game clearly registers my key press, it just doesn't let me quaff the potion and notifies me via said sound effect.Lava_Croft wrote: »
