Please, please, please add class forums to provide a focal point for builds, feedback, and to foster in-class community. Ideally assign a mod who actually plays the class as their main to the forum as well.

I am not sure that they would assign a mod who actually plays the class to read/respond, but it would be awesome if they did. Over at LotrO it was done that way for a long time and it was really awesome to be able to discuss key issue with the dev for your class. They did not always engage often, but when they did there was really great information.

I still think this is a really needed change to the forums in any case and it would help new players a lot as well as returning ones come up to speed on the many changes with their builds since last they were here.

Creating class sub-forums would probably be the easiest step.

Other ideas are to tag posts and allow us to search via tags, display all tags, exclude tags from searches, and other advanced search/tag management. Tags could be unique and player created ala social media tags, or there could be a specific limit of tags available.

Sub-forums would help prevent us from searching through a morass of "Combat & Character Mechanics" posts for something relevant. If I want info about DK heal specs I can ask in the DK forums and feel confident that the people whom this question is most relevant to will see.

As it is now, topics can fall off or be missed easily in a mass of other posts. More distressing is "big-issue" or "sensational" topics which DO belong under the umbrella of "Combat & Character Mechanics" and not in any specific sub-forum rise above class-specific questions. For example "spell resistance and armor" or "legerdemain needs an ultimate."

And, Zeni, if our love thou hold’st at aught—
As our great disburse thereof may give thee sense,
Since yet thy cicatrice looks raw and red
After the consumer sword and thy free awe
Pays homage to us—thou mayst not coldly set
Our sovereign process, which imports at full,
By letters congruing to that effect,
The present set of forum. Do it, Zeni,
For like the hectic in my blood it rages,
And thou must cure me. Till I know ’tis done,
Howe'er my haps, my joys were ne'er begun.

To be fair, the DK forum would literally just be complaint posts made by NB players.

I know its as if no one understands how hard it is to be a DK. Noobs.

I'm glad this thread is back on front page because it is something I'd really love to see on the forums.

The tagging of threads is of course another option.

It is still not the same as seeing a section for each class, which could grow over time and serve as a place of continuity for current information, past issues, and theorycrafting. People need to have some other place to bring class specific conversation than the dumping grounds of player guides, combat, and general discussion, which is where inevitably most of those threads land.

But, since they cannot see any value in Class Forums, based on the response it was considered and dismissed, the least that absolutely must happen is implementation of better tools for searching like the tag system you mention. I don't think it is an unreasonable thing to ask for considering the volume of traffic on the site.
