Ring of Mara Question

Does this bind two accounts? Or is it just two characters? If it is two characters what happens if one of those characters gets deleted? Is it wasted? Can you use another one? Is it reusable? So many questions lol.

From what I have read and heard, it's two characters. There is no such thing as divorce in the game -- so it's not re-usable by that character. If one character gets deleted or stops playing -- I think you would have to submit a support ticket to make it re-usable, if that's even possible.

I think making a quest for divorce in-game to get use of the rings again is an awesome idea.

I just convinced a friend to start playing. I've been saving this ring since launch. I know he is an altaholic from other games (which would make me an adulterer by ESO's standards... lol). Just wondering if the ring was user friendly or if it is like a deal with the devil - binding no matter what.

Hi @Khaldar! The Pledge binds two characters as opposed to two accounts. As mentioned by @Ysne58, once the Pledge has been used, you cannot change the character that you are bound to.

The rings bind two characters together, you get a ring when ceremony completes that says the name of the character you "married". If that character gets deleted or the player simply stops playing you do not get your ring back so choose wisely.

You can always destroy the ring to get divorced, but sadly in Tamriel divorces carry with them a stigma that makes it unlikely that you will ever be able to find another to marry :'(

By which I just mean that you'd have to be lucky and find someone else to marry who still has their Pledge of Mara...

@ZOS_GaryA Are the rings working with Champion Point Experience or no? I have heard plenty of rumors of the rings not working etc. I still have mine from Pre-Launch I have never used. I am thinking about using them if they do work on Champion Experience. Please respond, Thanks.

@Darklord_Tiberius Yes, the Rings of Mara amplify your experience gain, which means it affects champion point gain as well.

OK, now I'm confused... Are you talking about the Rings of Mara, or real life marriage? Which one isn't scary once you try it out? I must know!

Since when can anything in a game ever be scary? Except for Resident Evil, of course. I *** my pants the first time I played it on PS...

Of course I mean real life marriage. I ran away until I was 35, then I learned that above mentioned truth :)

So @ZOS_GaryA, one more question. Does the 10% bonus from the Ring of Mara stack additively or multiplicatively with the 10% ESO Plus bonus?

@Paulington experience bonuses stack additively :). So Ring of Mara + ESO Plus is a 20% boost

EDIT: Too many signs, WAYYYY too confusing.

"ESO Plus +" is the new tier of ESO Plus, with moar XP and even more gold I presume? ;).

    Thanks for letting us know.

I still have mine, but haven´t found the one (no matter if male or female) who can keep with my pretty small free time (and when I have much more time he/she is very busy or unavailable due to work or being from another continent than mine, thus the schedule disparity)

My ring of Mara is not showing as exp bonus under my character even though the ESO plus is showing. This is true when grouped with my hubby (Mara wearer) and we both have our rings on. I'll test it again this weekend but I was hoping for that extra 10%. Maybe I'm getting it but it's just not showing up like all my other bonuses? It's not that big of a deal right now but once we get those characters to vet level we'd really like to get that. :)

From what I know, you need to be grouped with your partner to get that 10% exp while both do questing or grinding.

only grouped? or even in the same zone/vicinity

like if we are grouped , one playing in craglorn and one in cyrodill Im guessing it doesn't work?
