I'd like to see that as well. There have also been several threads regarding ultimates for weapon skill lines and Undaunted, basically ones that don't currently have ultimate. I actually think Legerdemain could benefit from some active skills too. Nothing too crazy, and they would only be applicable to thievery/NPC murder/fencing items, so you couldn't use them in normal PvE/PvP. Off the top of my head (quite literally, cause I haven't given it in-depth thought):

    Blend In
    Cast Time - Instant
    Target - Self

Toggle to activate. While active, guards and NPCs will treat you as if you have no bounty. Drains 10% of your max stamina every second while active and halts stamina regeneration. When Blend In ends, stamina regeneration is reduced by 50%. Blend In cannot be used while already in combat and has a maximum duration of 15 seconds. 10 minute cooldown.

Something like the above. I haven't really thought about the ramifications of it, of which I'm sure there are many. My idea is it only really makes sense to use if you have a bounty, it's short in duration, and it annihilates your stamina, the thing you need to run away from guards. It gives everyone an equal ability, regardless of how much stamina you have, and you can't just pop it on if a guard is already chasing you. Lastly, maximum duration is there so you can't drink stam potions forever and keep it on. It's for people who want to push the boundaries of their thieving

    Skeleton Key
    Cast Time - Instant
    Target - Self
    Duration - 8 seconds
    Cost - 3300 Stamina

When activated, your lock pick cannot be broken while in use. Successfully picked containers while Skeleton Key is active have a 10% higher chance of having rarer and more valuable items. Each subsequent usage reduces the total duration by 1 second. Skeleton Key gains 1 second of duration for each hour it is not in use, up to 8 seconds total.

Again, haven't thought about the abuse of such an ability. If used over and over within a single hour, it will eventually reduce the duration to 0 seconds, making it useless. Actually, 1-3 seconds is pretty useless as well. Either way, prevents spamming to an extent. Stamina cost is so it's harder to use if you're already using stam for sneaking.

And this is my idea for an ultimate, which was the OPs request in the first place. The question got me thinking about active abilities, so I put down those first (sorry) .

    Sleight of Hand
    Cast Time - Instant
    Target - Self
    Duration - 10 seconds
    Cost - 300 Ultimate

For 10 seconds, after a successful pickpocket or container loot, stolen items are replaced with similar items of lower value. Replacement items do not come from your inventory. Any bounty you incur during the process is lessened by 50% and stolen items acquired have their cost increased by 20%. When Sleight of Hand ends, gain invisibility from guards and NPCs for 3 seconds.

Same rules, haven't thought it all the way through, etc. The scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Indiana tries to replace the gold statue with a sand bag, got me thinking of this. I tried to make it work for the casual and hardcore thief. A casual thief likely doesn't want a large bounty and does want to make more money, while a serious thief might already have a large bounty and doesn't want it going up (or maybe they do, I've heard people bragging about their 70k bounties  ). I only did some testing of the thievery system on PTS, and haven't done it since, so perhaps I'm completely wrong.

Edit: I added the invisibility to make it seem more "ultimate".

Still, those are my ideas! What do you guys think? Tear them apart, add, subtract, whatever you want.

I think the reason Legerdemain has no ultimate is that you do not generate ultimate while picking locks or pockets or randomly stealing things.

I also think they may be saving such fun active abilties (which hopefully will use the players highest resource if they have a cost and not a cooldown) for the Thieves Guild when that comes along.

I do like FizzleWizzle's "Dodging Responsibilities" idea though, I have some guildmates who seem to think a large (insanely large into the millions) bounty is a badge of honor:p If they kept all their gold on them AND had such a large bounty I would be more impressed since that is a lot of risk, but they keep it all in the bank.

Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are going to be worked soon on or are already in development (game systems for both have probably been already worked on for some time now). I bet they're going to have some sweet stuff along with their new Skill Trees. :)

As long as it has no bearing on combat. I think something like a Jedi mind trick ult would be hilarious. If guards catch you you basically tell them 'I am not the thief you are looking for'.
