For anyone that has a VR14 they would be bleeding as it would feel like another roll back for their character's progression, just like the CP system was.
Can't seeing that ending well.
P.S. To the OP, do you even VR14?

Personally, I've never had a problem with the veteran system. Before the Champion system, it was another kind of progression. Now, you'll want to do the silver and gold quests anyway because of the CP gain. I'd even like to have a 'Cadwell's platinum' and play my faction campaign again, scaled at vet14. If I were to log in tomorrow and be back to lvl 50, I'd be furious.
So, yes, hands off my vet ranks!

I have been VR14 for ages and really hope this happens.
1: Silver/Gold will be optional, resulting in a more "open-world" feel rather than a linear path.
2: Alts will be viable sooner
3: This is very important to me: Friends who buy the game will be able to enjoy the same content I do sooner, instead being disappointed only to realise 50 is a 3rd of the way.
4: Champion system is here providing some form of character advancement. Veteran rank really should disappear. I really liked the system in D3 as well.
5: There will be a far greater pool of item sets to collect at max level. I really like some of the sets but they are only available at lower VR levels.
