Anybody else disappointed by the Crown Store's offerings?

I can appreciate that it's not instantly filled with a ridiculous amount of items.

However, some of the items could stand to be more...useful. I don't want to pay 4$ for 10 soul gems that only work on one item, once. The repair kits are going in the right direction, I might actually buy one of them. But the soul gems? There should be more of them, or they should fill -everything-. Same for the potions - more of them!

I'm always out of magicka potions, soul gems and by extension gold. $4 for 10 soul gems - 10 deaths or rezzes, when I think the going price on 100 soul gems was 10k? - is a bit much. They could even give us soul gems, but each gem can be used once for refilling an item, and once to rez before being consumed.

In short - good job for far ZOS :) You've done great with the 'pay for convenience, but not to win' thing. Could stand to be a liiiiitle more convenient though.

Also, race changes, appearance changes....C'mon xD

As for buying DLCs with crowns? I am not holding my breath. If they do allow it, given current prices on fluff, I think people are going to be in for a big wake up call with the price. I certainly hope to be wrong (very wrong) about that... but I think it is inevitable given what they are already doing with mere fluff items alone.

When a horse costs 2500 crowns and you receive 1500 crowns for each month you subscribe going forward, DLC prices are going to be astronomical. It's no wonder they have not released any of it. If they starve of us new content long enough, we'll pay any exorbitant price they charge and they know this.

Pretty likely. And you can be there will be another massive QQ fest on the forums about the issue when/IF that happens. I just don't see how to get around it though, since they are obviously now focused on monetizing everything, most especially the content from this point forward... whatever it turns out to be.

I could be wrong, but going by the fact they're courting the console market I would be surprised if the DLC costs much more than 30, but I'm expecting it more to fall into the range of $15-$20 per DLC as that is the bog standard DLC price on consoles. The cosmetic items are going to be a bit more expensive when they're specialty or super unique looking mounts like the Nightmare Courser as people will pay that. I do think their prices are a bit high compared to other cosmetics offered in other MMO-esque games. At the rate a current zone can be implemented I don't think I would ever pay more than $30 for it, and even at that value I won't be buying until I've seen some videos or reviews of the content.

As with most things ZoS, the issue is not merely one of price but of everchanging use of semantics -- DLC in the perameters of this game could mean absolutely anything from a full on zone expansion to a meager addition of a single instance, and since they are conveniently keeping everyone in the dark about what the next update will even contain in the first place, I am witholding judgement until then.

Mostly, I agree with OP. But I have the advantage of expecting a Senche mount this week. If that were not the case, I could see myself on a guar or pinto mount. As for costumes, I personally never saw the need, since they are far from unique. I can custom dye my armor, and look like no one else in the game. Pets are a novelty that quickly looses their shine, and becomes clutter in banks and combat (though the panther is really cool). I have stacks of filled soul gems, and can make my own top tier buffs and pots. In short, I'm probably going to be sitting on a pile of crowns waiting for DLC. Unless forecasters are right about DLC being outrageously priced, I'll buy the DLC and drop my sub.

I'm moderately disappointed with the current selection.

The pets and mounts are decent overall, just not interested in them personally.

I like the idea of having civilian (chef, blacksmith, etc) costumes.
That's something I've always felt the game needed.

Knight's pack is terrible. Low level Breton armor...no one is going to buy this.
The other two packs are pretty mediocre as well.
If you're going to have armor costumes, it should make the player look and feel bad***.
I.e. it should look cool and unique, and not like...level 10 iron armor.

    Draugr is alright but overpriced.
Dress is...eugh. Can't wait for the giant wave of edgy kids buying this and running around in them.
Joker costume is a good offering for those who want it, not personally interested.

I want to buy the Imperial Upgrade, but I'm divided because I think it's too pricey.
I already own the adventurer's pack from pre-order.

Consumables are pointless. With the exception of Repair Kits you can either buy them cheaper for in-game gold, or easily get them from playing the game in the case of Soul gems.
The lore breaking fire steed thing.

I really don't see how it's lore breaking.

Let's also not forget costumes are not dyeable and are one-piece items so you can't even mix and match. I know I have no real desire to wear the same exact "jester" costume as the other 1000 people who buy it.

RIFT / SWToR has good options for mix and match - ESO should adapt to these type of cosmetic systems.
It would bring in more money from the item shop when they add a ton of cosmetics.

Yep, SWtOR's cosmetic system is what made its cash shop a roaring success ( I'm sure Zenimax would be pretty happy with pulling in $140 million per quarter from cash shop sales alone like EA rakes in with TOR's ).

I'm going to buy it. :p I like sensible armor.

I agree we definitely need dyable costumes, and preferably more customization options: please start selling separate element packs, not just entire outfits.

Personally I was a little disappointed there is hardly any regular civilian clothing. Scouts and jaqspurs are nice, my Bosmer looks great in a blacksmith's outfit, but she's not going to wear it when she's taking a stroll around town. I like all the Justice System stuff, but it takes armor slots.

It's the costume pack that I'm most seriously considering getting. That's purely for the "elite" armour costume, though, as I like that one quite a bit.

It's nice to wear when you're thieving, though, because if the guards catch you and you're not interested in paying off your bounty you don't really want to be wearing your armour anyway... I mean, if you don't run fast you're going to get killed by them and your armour will degrade. By wearing actual clothes in town, you don't have to worry about this.

How can you not be happy about the Crown store.

Complete lack of P2W items is a win win situation.

And at some point the DLCs will appear there. And I really do hope that at least ONE of those appears before the console release..or the Imperial city...like...I feel like returning veterans will be disappointed in how little extra content the game actually got.

Updated and more mechanics are always nice...but at some point we should really get the DLC madness going.

Also...where the hell is my Elven Horse Armor DLC...I was so ready to dish out 2.99 for that. ;D

I'm pretty optimistic that more fluff will be added soon. That said, most of the stuff in the store doesn't interest me. I bought a Yokudan Charger and senche pet, but nothing else catches my eye. I like some of the individual costumes, but not the others in the bundle so I won't bother with those.

Personally, I like the fluff. I probably would never buy crowns that weren't ESO plus crowns- but I find the fluff fun. I really liked wandering around cities yesterday and seeing everyone's new horses and guar (and not 95% white imperials) and pets running around. :)

Its just starting. Give it time. They have to be careful because no one wants items in there that make the game P2W. Right now nothing on their gives you any crazy advantage over other people.
