Anybody else disappointed by the Crown Store's offerings?

Is anybody else finding the Crown Store items to be severely underwhelming? There is absolutely nothing in the store I want to buy. I purchased the Imperial Edition of the game before last year's launch so I don't need items such as the Explorer's Pack. My Senche mount coming soon from the loyalty rewards makes the current mounts seem unremarkable. I spend over 90% of my game time in Cyrodiil where pets are not allowed. My specially dyed armor that coordinates well with my guild tabard looks better than any of the costumes. In short, there is nothing in the Crown Store which I want or could use.

What would I buy in the Crown Store? DLC, none of which is in the store because ZOS refuses to release any of it. Even worse, it will be four or more months before any DLC is for sale if you read Paul Sage's tea leaves.

Overall, the Crown Store is a big bust for me.

I think this is a good problem for the game to have. Far too many B2P/F2P games go crazy with their cash shops and dump all the attractive items there, leaving in-game rewards (and content) severely neglected. I prefer it this way than the alternative.

I do think the crown store will no doubt end up getting filled with all manner of items in the future, and I can't really begrudge Zenimax for that - I just hope that they won't neglect in-game rewards for the sake of the cash shop, and I certainly hope they won't add any lore-breaking or tasteless/crass items to the crown store (the nightmare courser is really pushing it already).

Don't worry, we'll get P2W within a year or two most likely.

Crown store is set up for those who are not good decision makers / do not think very much; pretty much the "oh, shiny!" crowd.

Very disappointed for armor and outfits. Still waiting on the race/class change option. The mounts look cool (too expensive though) and the pet's are nice.

I almost wish I felt the same way as you.

I'm a sucker for mounts and pets... so even though I have the imperial/explorers pack, plus all loyalty and will be getting the senche.. I still bought a bunch. Depends on your preference. I prefer the dog pets over anything I have been given, and like to change up my mount depending on what I'm doing or how I'm feeling.

I do understand it could be disappointing though. Hopefully DLC starts getting released when consoles come out. As I think the only thing other than more pets/mounts/costumes (which you have no interest in) will be XP boosters coming to a crown store near you.

Maybe with all the novelty items you don't care for, you will be able to save up your crowns and purchase the DLC with them, and not need to drop more money!

I think the price of 40 Crowns per 10 Soul stones is pretty weak. That works out to 125 Souls Stones per month subscription?

There is only one thing I care to see on the crown store. Experience potions so reduce the time I have to grind each day.

You guys can keep your Mounts, wedding dresses, and RP accessories for the people who are into that stuff.

The only things that would be worth while now would be XP bonus potions. I'm not in any rush to get CP so I will wait until there's worthwhile DLC content to use crowns on.

I'll be checking them out with my imperial DK tonight.. but my barbie doll (princess) looking toons look MUCH better on a horse. Or maybe a Senche ;) lol

    Its a good start.
I am sure they will be adding a lot more and changing it all the time, as its now their income so they will be reviewing sales almost daily.

I would like to see more convenience items but that is a fine line between convenience and 'Buy to Win'

    Thinks like
"Summoned Banker\Merchant" allowing you to sell and bank anywhere.
"Port to Crafting Island" an instanced island with all the crafting set tables next to each other.
"Allow you to change how your toons looks (but not race)

Some players like to pay for pretty stuff (like horses and pets)
Others like to play for things that make life easier

I agree. I'm sure some folks will find stuff they like and that more things will be added in, but for me the top priority items that would be big money makers are things like makeover tokens and name changes. I was also underwhelmed by the cosmetic armor, most of which seemed ordinary.

It's over guys and gals, no reason to complain about it anymore. majority of us love the game and unfortunately they don't care how we have been treated or care if we stay or go. They have taken the MMORPG players and threw us under the bus so they could get more people in the game.

I will still give the game great reviews only because I love it. But that same review will cover how we were treated by the company with untruth's from beta to present. Then end the review to just say yep you need to buy the game and play it you won't be sorry.

There is nothing in there right now that I want. It's more personal taste though than a matter of quality. I'm hopeful that they will put something in there that appeals to me soon, like a banekin pet.

I gave an agree @LonePirate ZOS has to do better than a handful of offerings that no matter what you buy, every other player has too. I'll just count my crowns till actual content (I would not have paid for Justice system tbh) appears, or the store gets enough stuff you don't see the same all around you.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

We have already waited eight months for new content (now DLC) that was announced back in July 2014. How much more patience do we need?

Unfortunately, at least another 4 - 6 months worth, at minimum. If they even get around to phase 4 of the Champion System before August I would be very surprised.

As for the crown store, I full expect they will be adding all kinds of additional stuff neither you or I would be interested in, given your OP which I agree with btw. But it did just launch, so I have no doubt they will add more fluff as time wears on.

As for buying DLCs with crowns? I am not holding my breath. If they do allow it, given current prices on fluff, I think people are going to be in for a big wake up call with the price. I certainly hope to be wrong (very wrong) about that... but I think it is inevitable given what they are already doing with mere fluff items alone.

We're a long long way from WOW. In a few years if we're all bombing around of flying rainbow horses and cloud serpents I'll agree with you.

Beast merchants and summonable merchants are an elder scrolls thing.

Summonable Mudcrab merchant would be a fun Morrowind throwback.

When a horse costs 2500 crowns and you receive 1500 crowns for each month you subscribe going forward, DLC prices are going to be astronomical. It's no wonder they have not released any of it. If they starve of us new content long enough, we'll pay any exorbitant price they charge and they know this.

I agree, they need to keep a even match or close to it. Like a 60/40 max. Otherwise all the good stuff is in the shop and people feel "forced". Then we have to explain that no one is forcing you to buy stuff and they say, but...all the good stuff is paid only.

A long cycle that can easily be avoided.

Pretty likely. And you can be there will be another massive QQ fest on the forums about the issue when/IF that happens. I just don't see how to get around it though, since they are obviously now focused on monetizing everything, most especially the content from this point forward... whatever it turns out to be.
