Question about escaping from city guards while inside a building.

Is it possible without the help of someone else to exit a building while being attacked by a city guard?
For example:

- Guard starts performing a power attack. You block it and doing so stuns the guard momentarily. Can you escape during this window of inactivity from the guard and head out the door?

BeefaloSoul ShrivenI've been able to get out the door with Dark Cloak active; the invisibility causes the guard to briefly non-aggro/disengage so you can select the door and exit. It's a small window and cloak won't work if the guard DoTs you because it breaks too quick, but it beats surrendering.
I don't know if a stun would do the same, but I suspect it won't work since you are still technically in combat.
