Weren't we promised senche mounts?

The fact is they have had months to get the Senche Mounts ready for release, prior to Unlimited release as they had said. So there is no reason that the Senche wasn't given out by yesterday.

Opinions are opinions. I choose to have one that takes into account what a rocky road its been up until now and how many things have changed in the background.

Also, with the big sub boom and people racing to get extra sub time to qualify for it there has been alot of last minute arrivals.

So if its ok with you, I'll stick with my own perspective on it :)

For me, it's better if they do this step by step. First they do one thing, which is delivering crowns, and later, we all get our senche if we're eligible.

I bought an adorable striped guard for my main dunmer char and he's now very very happy with his racial mount.
I wanted one for him since day one : D
They're now delivering crowns and solving problems with ppl not receiving crowns so, let's them do their work. One week more or less hasn't to be an issue. Kitties will come, so don't worry!

Are they not given out yet or did i get shafted.

The shipment of senches that were supposed to be delivered to the Crown Store got ambushed by Worm Cultists. A lone hero is being dispatched now to retrieve them. Several NPC's told him that they would go with him, but they need to stay behind and deal with something else.

Ah well, lets hope your lone hero got his bonus crowns. Or we'll be waiting for a bloody long time as he goes to get them on foot >.<

From my perspective (and that of past history) they want to take their time with the senche release and make sure everything is handled smoothly.

If they rush we will potentially see allocation mistakes, with accounts due a mount not receiving them and ones that arent, recieving them by mistake.

I'd rather we went with patience tbh. That way there is less heartache for us and them, which can only be a good thing; in a time period thats fairly crucial for the games longevity/ future.

The fact is they have had months to get the Senche Mounts ready for release, prior to Unlimited release as they had said. So there is no reason that the Senche wasn't given out by yesterday.
There's a very big reason why they shouldn't have been given out yesterday.

First off, as this is a one-time thing rather than a "send it out when people qualify" thing like previous loyalty rewards, it makes the most sense to wait for the last possible day when people can become eligible to get it in order to determine eligibility for everyone. That way, you only have to do the work of identifying who is and isn't eligible once.

So doing anything before the final day on which people could pay for game time and still be eligible would have been stupid of ZOS.

Second, once the final minute has passed in which it was possible for people to pay for game time, then you need to run a query from their account/billing database to find out who is and who isn't eligible. If their database is anything like most databases, you don't want to run big queries off the live DB as it will have a significant negative effect on performance (in severe cases it could cause crashes, or it could cause transactions on live to fail as records are locked by the query). So what you typically do is wait for the daily load to the data warehouse (or to a copy of the production account/billing DB if they don't have a data warehouse, but I'd be very surprised if they don't have a DW), and then when that is complete you run a query from there.

Third, once you have identified all of the eligible accounts, then you run a script to unlock the senche mount for those accounts. I don't know how they script these things, so I don't know what the process would be for this part of it. As such, I can't say whether there's some reason this step would take more than a few minutes, or if it would be more or less instantaneously.

So yeah, anyone who has worked in IT for a large company that deals with promotions & eligibility (in my case I work in IT for a credit union, so I'm comparing this to how we would have to accomplish something similar in retail banking) will know that it would have made no sense for them to give out the senche when you wanted it.

My favorite was the one guy in the Ebonheart Pact (I think he was one of Jorunn's lieutenants) who you find wounded on his farm with a hurt arm (in Eastmarch or the Rift, I think). He wants you to go kill some giant who overran his farm blah-blah-blah. And he *would* go with you and all--but, you know, he can't because his arm is soooo hurt. So I kill the giant with no help from him of course, get my reward, and head back to the military camp--where he is standing, not hurt at all. lol

the point is : if they give out the new free mount right away, not as many will buy the new cash shops mounts on day one, after they've been waiting since launch for something different. That's literally all it is. If ZOS wanted us to have our mounts, we would have them. This has been a really cynical and desperate don't-drop-your-subscription carrot.

so when can I cancel my subscription? If I do it today, do I still get my senche mount (whenever they decide to send it)? Inquiring minds want to know.

    bingo.

This one also noticed the cash shop potions are actually better than the equivalent crafted ones. I say equivalent because most of the flavors we like do not come in cash shop version but, for simple 1 resource restore, the cash shop ones are of greater magnitude. They are most certainly not, as was previously stated, the same as trash drop potions.

Also, am I mistaken is it almost $1.00 for a soul gem in the cash shop. Is this a mistake or has somebody been hitting the skooma?
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Haha theres tonnes of those kind of guys around. Its like the world wouldnt function without you to do their dirty work lol.

Like the guy in the Auridon Marines, he wants you to save his son because well..you know hes too old and his sword arm aint what it used to be.. except hes in an elite unit in full heavy armor lmao.

Then when I come back that arms feeling miraculously better and hes ready to dispense some whoopass of his own (now that scary creatures have been dispensed by little girl with stick ofc).

Its all good fun but makes me laugh at the screen lol. This game actually makes me talk at the screen alot...oh dear haha.

At first I thought that this game just couldn't handle NPC "helpers" or something. But then there are a few missions where you *do* get NPC party members, particularly in the main storyline. So it is possible, and yet 99% of the time you're fighting alone in PvE.

Lol I rescued a guy, he helpes me for like a minute and then is like 'thats all folks im going back to my unit!' Guess being in squads with me is that awful, its more of a test of fortitude than a fun trip out lol -.-

That said PvE is too easy for me to warrant much help questing. I do it anyway ofcourse, questing with friends is fun but NPC help is just overkill really.

Fairly accurate analysis, but you forget that the unlock for the senche mount isn't just setting a flag in the live DB -- it's quite likely that adding the senche mount to your collections is probably multiple DB requests per account, *plus* the generation of a mail record to that user to indicate they've received it. Since all of this has to run on the live servers, and you don't want to kill those servers with a huge influx of DB requests, you severely rate-limit the script so it either does the job in batches, or at a continuous slow rate of speed.

In the past, when they've sent out loyalty rewards during a non-maintenance timeframe, i seem to recall it has sometimes taken hours to over a day for everyone who qualifies to receive their reward once they've started the process, so I would expect much the same to happen in this case.

I expect that you're probably right about that aspect of the process, though - especially on the note that you'd want to rate-limit the script that does it in order to avoid server load issues. Or do it during a maintenance period I guess.

Calm down, it's nothing sinister. It has to do with the way they deliver crowns. Additional crowns awarded for months subscribed prior to the launch of TU today are being delivered today (or in the next few days if there are any glitches). The 1500 per paid month are delivered as soon as the payments are received (or calculated, in the case of months paid prior to TU launch). So, if you have 2 more months paid on your membership as of today, you'll get 2x1500 (3000) for that, but if you have just paid for an additional 6 months, you'll get 6x1500 (9000) for that. If you want more crowns today, just pre-pay for additional subscribed months and you'll get the crowns for those months immediately.

Kitty thinks this is plausible. She has been missing her Moons Sugar treats something fierce. :|

Ugh, I'm so sick of this attitude: "Where is MY Senche mount?"

It's a loyalty reward, dear god. It's a free gift from the development team that doesn't have to happen. If you get it in a month, who cares? It's free. You pay to access the game. It's not charity money that you're giving to ZOS because you want to; you're giving the money to ZOS because you want to play their product. The only thing that they owe us is continued maintenance and content because that is what we're paying for.
