NPCs are too aware of trespassing

Flamescale
Both Oblivion and Skyrim had this issue, and I was amused to see it carry over into this game. When you sneak into a house, even if you remain hidden enough to steal items and pickpocket, NPCs will still repeatedly ask you to leave as if they are fully aware of your presence from the moment you walk through the door. Is this even avoidable? There isn't much impact on the mechanics of thieving, but it detracts from the enjoyment of breaking into homes quite a bit for that reason. Not a major quibble for an otherwise awesome update, but it would make me very happy if they were able to fix this.

I agree. They even detect my NB while cloaked. Very immersion breaking.

Biggest grief I have is that they don't actually call guards even though they say so.

Thank the gods they don't, or getting away with it would be impossible :P

Agreed. What's the point of trespassing being a "crime" if they don't report it?

That would be a good thing.

I agree with this. It's annoying when you're supposedly hidden but the npc banter is all throwing justice your way. It needs some fine tuning for sure.

Wait, they never call the guards? I've always left houses immediately because I thought if I stayed for too long I'd incur a bounty.

It's not a question of YOU getting away but the NPC's. They run for the guards, I'll stab'em in the back ;) Would make things more interesting. Since the last patch I've gotten away with murder since you won't get a bounty if there's no one to report the crime. Watch out all you lonely Dominion widows indeed haha!

Yep if you stay unseen, they should react as such.

Additionally, wish ZOS would allow you to stay in stealth when entering homes and teleporting (like we used to) if you we're in stealth before entering/teleporting.

Are you being taken out of stealth? I always remain stealthed when I go through doors or use a wayshrine (unless I'm detected by a nearby NPC).

Haven't had this experience yet. So far as long as my main remains stealthy on her trespassing to thievery, noone complains. Only when I wander through their field of vision and get detected do they get irked and verbal... (at which point I declare the heist a failure and run. Uhm... or kill them. One or the other. :smirk: )

Yes there are some funny anomalies that occur. From entering what appears to be a large house but instead finding a one room building with everyone stacked on the door.
Here is some instances that made me laugh. "I am a guard suspicion is my occupation!" Sees me sneaking and starts gushing over all my awesome exploits to save the world. A few moments later "Stop that or I will call the guards!" when I again come into his Line of sight momentarily while stealthed.

Oh and just for the newer people non reported murder only occurs if you get a one strike kill.

I have been in stealth without being detected while lockpicking the door open. im in full stealth once inside and the npc is no where near or with his back turned towards me and still the first second im inside he says:hey, trespasser get the F out.

the whole system is flawed as it seems to me that this is far from a bug. maybe a big oversight in the creation process ??

Agreed. Either (1) make trespassing awareness the same as detected/hidden awareness AND have them call the guards after a three strikes your out situation, or (2) remove the stupid trespassing dialogue all together.

So wait... let me get this straight... if you lockpick a house and go inside and there is only one inhabitant, you can stabbity stab them to death and no one will report the crime?
