Non optional EXP boost for subscribers??

This is kind of stupid, don't you think so ZOS? Personally I find it hard enough to accept all this, within 5 levels nonsense. And now you're planning on making it even more of a nightmare to play this game the way it should be ( the way you want, not the linear path we're walking)

Either get rid of the level limitations, or at the very least make this exp boost optional.

It's a poor bonus and one I'm surprised they felt had any place in the ESO world, honestly! It's a subscription deal breaker, imo of course.

They reduced the xp in game so now with the 10 percent you are still below what it was prior to the changes so in reality we are not seeing any improvement we are just getting closer to how the xp really should be. Also i cant remember but what is the xp bonus we get for grouping, is it 10%? it might not be that much but i really dont think it will make much of a difference.

I've always leveled too quickly in this game for non-vet levels and quests can become trivial very early on. That's why I liked how the main, fighters and mage guild quests are scaled to your level now. Too bad, you don't have an option for regular quests to scale up too.

Once I've reached level 50 and can begin earning CPs, then I want the 10% XP boost from ESO Plus membership.

Only problem with xp boost is player separation for two people who want to level together but one doesn't sub.

I can't help but think, if you're willing to unsub for getting "too much experience" then you were just preparing to unsub at some point anyways.

It's 10%. When the subscriber hits 50 their friend will be 45 assuming they did everything together. Not really a huge gap.

I want a way to completely shut off EXP gain and toggle it on when I feel ready it should be gained again. As a completionist I way out level stuff much too fast.

It may be fun to play in the non vet pvp server as long as you wanted. Assuming you could disable xp gain.

Actually I would like an option to turn it off also. Some characters I like to level slowly, as I always end up over leveling when I decide to explore, do delves, group etc. Quests start to become trivial.

I do understand your reasoning for this. During your 1-50 experience I was outrageously overlevelled. I ended up skipping large chunks of my faction's last two zones and Cold Harbour so I would become VR on par. I have now overlevelled my VR zone by 2 levels. Unfortunately I don't think it's a big enough concern for ZOS.

In good news, even when you 2 VR levels above your current zone, quests are still not grey ;) VR zones the being overlevelled issue is much less of an issue.

Instead of stopping xp all together, why not implement a way to save it for later?

How about storing it in a potion?

A potion that players could sell...

A potion that would maybe give a 10% xp boost to whoever drinks it?

Wait, nah, those are exclusively on the crown store.

You are worried that you will receive too much XP?

it is a legitimate concern for your first level 1-50 playthrough, its almost impossible not to constantly overlevel and have to move to the next zone before youve fully explored already. but aside from that ill happly take more xp for everything.

Perhaps they should keep this 10% boost for vet levels only. I was constantly overleveled the stuff and I didn't even grind much in 1-50. For vet it is a bit better, but I am in Greenshade (third zone in Cadwell silver) and I am already VR7. Will see how it will go with CP though...

Don't see how this is funny if someone wants less EXP or, even, no EXP. The 1 - 50 game it's almost 2x's too much if you want to do quests/exploring at somewhat appropriate levels. You are aware some (myself included) don't want to push for end-game as quickly as possible.

The issue is not the 10% boost. It is the non-optimized XP across normal and Vet levels. Way too much quest XP 1-50... Nowhere near enough in Vet and beyond.

I dunno about disabling XP gain entirely... but I wouldn't mind the +10% XP boost being optional somehow.

It could be done a million different ways, from consumable items to a check-box in the options. Or even something like feeding your horse every day - just go pray at a shrine or something and get your 10% XP boost for 20 hours.

But yeah... I'm already 5 levels over the content, and once the patch goes live, it's only going to get worse. I can't remember the last time I actually got better gear from a quest reward, let alone had to actually worry about a combat challenge...

All I know is EXP boost is forced on me as a ESO Plus subscriber I'll consider just using the free model to remove it. Yes! gaining too much experience for my game experience is a huge deal for me.

I really hope a moderator sees this thread and let's the development team know some of it's player base does not want this boost and some (ME!) want to fully shut it off when we see ourselves outleveling content.

    @DogFaceInBananaPatch:

It's funny because you have to play how others play the game. Anything else is unacceptable. It just makes no sense to do anything but rush to level cap so you can do endgame. You're not supposed to take your time because that's not what other people do. And the ones that do, well, they're doing it wrong.
  • MachineKludge
I've seen at 2 threads on this same line, but no official response on either. The XP gain is preventing me from getting ESO+ - as people have mentioned, I feel I am already outpacing the local quests. (Note: I don't feel I level too fast, I feel the non-story quests should level with me.) The idea of using a shrine or something to turn the XP boost on/off seems like a good one if making it part of the game is important, but otherwise, I think just having it as an option is good enough.

I was subbed since the start of console release and started a new char to level with the guild (transferred from PC). The ESO Plus boost on PS4 doesn't feel like it really works anyways. My main leveling buddy was always with in 1-2 levels and where he didn't log for a few days this did stretch to 4-6 difference.

I must admit I didn't do major intense rocket science testing but the XP boost didn't seem to really show its worth.

The XP scroll though with ESO Plus got me 1.5 VR levels in an hour which seems good, just need to rock some rings and that will smash the VR levels and CP.

How about we have a toggle that cancels ALL XP gains of all sorts ?
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.
