Please don't let this be another 30GB patch

So the game goes free tomorrow or at least today if the server isn't down all day, so please tell me that making the game free, introducing the crown store and what ever else they are doing isn't going to make this update huge.

I really didn't enjoy leaving my computer on while I slept, to wake up to find the patch failed do to some error, try it again, same error thus forcing me to do a scan on the entire game file library to repair what needed to be fix then re-try to download the patch, which was like re-downloading the entire game again and then some.

If I remember correctly 2.0.0 on the PTS was about 3GB give or take. 2.0.1 is supposed to have more bug fixes then the PTS version so it will probably be a little larger. Maybe about 4-5GB. Just a guess.

3-5 gig probably

Bug fixes included =10-12 gig minimum

Crowns store =? I'll guess 5 idk?

Crown Store is already in, it just needs to be turned on. There shouldn't be much in this update aside from big fixes and a new Bink or two, and at least the bug fixes aren't usually very big. If there are any audio fixes, that'll likely bump it up by a few gigs, but I don't think there's any audio that needs fixing this time?

The bankers in the Thieves areas do not move their their lips while they talk. The audio (file) plays fine, but there is no animation to sync with the char model lips. How big are animation files normally?

*whew* My new cable modem hasn't arrived yet, anyway... it will be replacing a 9-year-old DOCSIS 2.0 model. Please ensure a new zone launches on the specific day my new modem happens to arrive, so I can test its speeds in a real-world scenario, though!

Now, if they would only post the intended patch notes when maintenance starts instead of waiting until it ends and the servers are back up.

It isn't that hard and only takes a few minutes at most since most of the info can be cut and pasted from the patch notes from the PTS.

ESO has big patches because the the high texture detail and the insane amount of dialog. The engin code itself compiles into a 60MB exe with a few DLL's for a total just under 100MB.

If you want smaller patches, play a older game ;-)

Yeah! I miss the old days where we had to download big patches overnight or over the course of a day or two and resume was not a standard feature! It's so much worse having enough bandwidth to get it in a matter of hours even if it's a full new fresh install download! And storage is REALLY expensive, it used to be so much cheaper. I can't find an SSD that costs $700 for 64gb nowadays like I got a deal on in 2008

, the best I found was a 480gb one for $120. This stinks! I thought technology was supposed to move forwards!!!! Let's go back to 1995 already, come on now... multi-day downloads were awesome! When I got my first cable modem connection in 1997 or so, the web was ruined FOREVER.

I kinda thought something has been off with the graphics to just aint figured out what, wonder if he's using thew new am,d graphics drivers cause I noticed too that after an update to latest graphics drivers and am,d update things have looked funny am using a radeon 280x

Well, even my antique DOCSIS 2.0 modem is able to pull 3.5mbytes/sec (~28mbps) @Folkb. Either they're on satellite connections on a desert island in the middle of the Antarctic Circle, or they're exaggerating just to complain

Probably prepping everything for easy access to turn on the crown store for everyone and the change in no subscriptions etc., is why things are taking longer today. Cannot wait for all new additions.
