I've heard a few people talking about this, but I haven't experienced any lag. I'm NA, so I'm not sure if you're on the EU server or not. Are you sure it's not something on your end?

Pffft.....good damn luck on that. Takes them a month or more to find out what they screwed up and even then they may decide not to fix it at this time. >..>

I really wish and think they should fix THEIR screw ups right away but they cant or wont...most likely they cant though. :/

The PvE lag spikes seemed extra bad today, for lots of people in my guilds and in zone chat, but as usual, some people are spared for some reason. Hopefully it's just a temporary hiccup. If things are really bad, they screwed up something with the changes they made to try to fix the lag, and made it worse in a way that will take weeks to fix. But let's think happy thoughts here and hope it's something that will pass before Tuesday.

wakes up *Yawn* *checks the game status* , the lag still exists?.... *closes PC and goes to sleep* *dreams of the day the lag is fixed*
If I die tomorrow I do not want to think of the game I could of played today, therefor I will play whatever I want today while securing a future to play in as well.

Was having issues with extremely frequent bouts of 999+ ping ever since 1.6.

Wrote in a ticket, support had me cycle my router and home network then run a pathping.

After cycling the router and home network, the issue was still present and the pathping showed the connection dropping off just as it got to the server, even though the whole path out of my network was fine.

Sent the pathping in to ZOS and within about 4 hours the issue went away and has not returned.

Not certain it will work for you, but if you write ZOS a ticket about the pings and follow up on what they say they may be able to sort it out for you as well.

Tested new router/modem , super high speed internet connection and logged into Thornblade NA . Some lag spikes dropped from 1000+ Latency to 668 Latency ping . FPS stayed steady at 70-80 FPS and rarely dropped below 50FPS . Will post specs and speed test results next . But as we've been saying , the lag - it's on their (zos) side .

They couldn't fix the lag in the last 11.5 months, how could they fix it in 24h?

well, to be entirely honest: 1.6 lagging (much) more then 1.5 should not come as a surprise...

The changes in the way AoE damage is handled sounds (to me) significantly more calculation intensive, while at the same time the actuall increase in AoE damage over 1.5 is not enough to discourage clumping up.

When I and others were lobbying to remove AoE caps as a (potential) solution to the "clumping up" gameplay and acompaniing lag, we were suggesting to simply apply full damage to everything within range of the AoE. What was actually implemented requires an additional "range-sorting" step of all the targets within an AoEs range, and then another calculation pass to apply the appropriate damage reductions (50% for targets 7-30, 75% for targets 31-60). Moreover - it is my impression that the "damage reduction" from the reworked AoE-caps stacks with other sources of damage reduction - thereby resulting in almost negligable damage to every target beyond the first 6.

Which, obviously, results in increases calculation overhead for AoE damage skills, while not allowing said AoE skills to discurage players from stacking on crown anymore then they did in 1.5 ...

Very interesting. When looking at other peoples traces the delay happens at their firewall or load balancers but not at their servers (PvE specifically). When you say pathping, what is it that they had you run?

Seriously, Since I came back to ESO I've been getting Lag spikes. FPS: constant 50/70, Ping jumps all over the place 90/999 its driving me nuts.

Similar lag on both NA and PTS. Sometimes the only way I know it's hosed is when it decouples and I am no longer able to click on anything, leading eventually to a crash back to the login screen. Often it doesn't update the FPS and Latency values when this happens.

I never believed in this "lag" everyone was talking so much about. Two weeks ago I joined a new guild that organizes occasional PvP events. I grouped up with them on Friday night and everything was fine in a huge group. As soon as a group of opposing players joined the action I was hit by a 999+ power point presentations.

Funny thing was I could "walk" through groups of enemy players without getting hit as they were certainly effected as well. Funny experience but I would love to do some decent PvP at some point as well.

Thanks for the continued reports of the lag and problems in the PVE zones. ZOS might actually address the problems now despite ignoring them previously when only the PVP crowd experienced them.

before 1.6 I had a average FPS of 40-50 and latency of 80-100, I now have average FPS of below 25 and latency above 150, with spikes into 600-999.

I have a good computer, i7 , 2 solid state procc, a decent vid card, 12 gig ram.

So it should handle more than what it handles.

Its server lag ZOS you guys know it your problem but still you try to throw the blame on your customer's

That is all ****ed up, stop it.

Yup, that's the problem. FPS drops is not lag. Having ping spike to 900+ is lag.
