Legerdemain Laundering mistake/bug/issue/oversight.

Hi there,

While I am enjoying thieving and the Justice System, I find it annoying and very difficult that stackable items don't count as a single item when laundering. This makes things difficult, for example I recently spent ages farming mats on one character to give to another for provisioning but it is going to take weeks to launder all the individual items in the 20 or so stacks I farmed.

Please consider changing the launder system to stacks rather than single items within a stack.

Thanks.

That's what you get for stealing.

A perk similar to Skyrim's, where you can sell stolen stuff to any vendor, would be cool, though I doubt it'd ever be implemented due to that horrible bugbear "game balancing".

they should make a page of stolen items, i constantly look in my bags to find "my" items but can only find 4 or 5 at a time..

    Is there mod for this?

Advanced filters has no page as of yet.

I think it is probably intentional rather than a mistake. They thought about the little details a lot.

If I steal for my own provisioning, the system will use stolen stuff first. Don't have to launder it at all. it only becomes an issue if you want to trade it around.

Seems to be on purpose to me.

While I have no problem laundering a few of the worthwhile provisioning ingredients, I don't rely on the justice system for my provisioning needs aside from recipes.

It is much more efficient to collect ingredients in the world.

Honestly tho, just go find something that will earn you some gold and go buy the ingredients in bulk. It isn't very expensive to buy most of what you need to make a few stacks of whatever green/blue recipe. You'll have to pay a bit more for the purple ingredients.

First off, I requested that crafting items be unlocked by the stack in Beta.

However, I wlll say that if you spend ONE skill point into the passive in Lagerdamien, or whatever they called it, that allows you to increase your items to sell/launder to a fence, it will up your amount from 55 items a day to 110. I dont personally have the Skill Points to get more, but even just doubling the number made my life easier. I also only go steal 110 items to launder, while selling racial stones, costume clothes and the cool stuff to the fence. Each item sold and each item fenced raises my skill level. After 110, I turn off the "pick up stolen items" and turn on the "protect the innocent" until my crime spree the next day.

Maybe others can tell you how many maxing out this passive leads to you being able to launder..

Oh, and be sure to restack all those items in your bags. As you undoubtedly noticed, each time you launder items, they make a new stack. Sometimes I will have 5 stacks of the same item in my bag from a number of trips to the fence, plus free loot. Putting them into the bank will stack them together if you dont want to go thru your inventory.

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

Don't launder provisioning components. Just use them. The resulting food is considered non-stolen.

EDIT: and stolen ingredients get used up preferably.

Oh it all stacks, but you have to launder the items 1 at a time.
3 blue combs, stacked, are three clicks and count 3 towards daily total.
30 beets all stack, but are 30 clicks and 30 items for daily count to launder

That isn't how it works for me!

If I have 3 blue combs, it is one click (plus the confirmation) to sell all 3 and it adds 3 to the daily fenced items tally.

If I understand the OP correctly, what they want is for those 30 beets, one stack, to count as only 1 item laundered. I disagree with this a LOT. Crafting mats stack to 200 and you can raise the laundering (and fencing) cap to 140 items, there is just no way that your stack of 200 prov mats should count as a single item. I am also a provisioner and I will launder some of the prov mats I find everyday if I don't have 150+ already in my bank for that type.

What I would love is if the "item counter" on the top right of the tooltip would show stolen:bag:bank so I would know how many of an item I already had. The stolen item ids are just a 1 in a certain column instead of a 0 so it wouldn't be too difficult to do I think.

Stacking after laundering, this does get quite annoying after awhile! I will steal until I get some things that I really don't want to lose to a guard and then go fence/launder and then resume stealing. Eventually my bag will be "full" and I will look and have multiple partial stacks of various items I laundered /sigh. I try to remember to hit the Moneylender between sprees to avoid that issue!

Stacks take in one click and give you the multiple count. I have tested this. What takes a long time, and you don't have to wait for it, is the game has to process each item individually, at least in the animation. It probably also slows down the messages per second the server has to process. Anyway, I sell the entire pile in a click fest and then walk away from the fence. A couple of minutes later, my Legerdemain is leveled.

Which makes me wonder if this goes faster when you have maxed the skill out....

Sorry, was wrong about the clicks. I knew the items counted separately. I never launder my mats. I don't think i have ever laundered anything over a 3 stack count.

I didn't know there was XP on laundering... is it by item count or item value?

I find it more inconvenient that you can only stack 5 maximum blue items. My inventory is always filled with multiple stacks of 5 blue stolen items.

Deleted the white and green stolen items as soon as I realized they are worthless due to the limited number of fence transactions per day. To get the most out of it, I try to only sell blue items.

It all stacks for me, but material items are laundered per each, while non-material items that stack--such as the blue quality item mentioned above--will be laundered by the stack; XP is given per each transaction so each material item is worth one and the whole stack of non-material items is worth one. Watching your gold spent or using addons is helpful - unless it's buggy overall and those are unreliable.

It certainly can take a few minutes for the game to catch up and award the proper amount of XP and level the skill; interesting how addons seem to know nearly instantly but it takes the servers several seconds to minutes to recognize - server side taking its time?

If stackable non-materials items are supposed to be awarding XP per each item laundered, it's buggy for me.

Advanced Filters does have a Fenced tab.
